Mike Dee comments on changes to logo, uni, stadium.

Also, in addition to the Ring of Honor, it would be awesome to have either a Dolphins Hall of Fame/museum or maybe a Miami football hall of fame (incorporating local high schools and the U) or maybe even a Miami Sports area which would incorporate The Heat and Marlins as well.

Just ideas.

 

This is a cool idea. At the FleetCenter/TD Bank North Garden/TD Garden/Boston Garden there is a New England Sports Museum. Lots of cool stuff from all the pro and college teams in the area. There's enough stuff from The U and the Dolphins to make it interesting. That would be a neat idea.

 

all I want is the helmet off the Dolphin and while they are at it, lose the drop shadow on the #'s. The uni's from 1994 with two color numbers always looked the best.

 

Only other explanation is that he was looking at it through a mirror lol.

I am not a fan of blue helmets. I don't think they contrast well enough with the logo.

 

A lot of people forget, but the navy jersey was supposed to be the 3rd alternate. They actually produced a bunch of replicas and everything. When they showed it to some season ticket holders, people hated it, so they opted to go with the orange jersey instead. I thought that was a good move. I agree with Dupree, Navy doesn't contrast well with Aqua. This is why the majority of teams with navy in their color scheme accent it with a brighter color like Red (Braves, Red Sox) or Orange (Bobcats) or Neon Green (Seahawks). It looks too bland otherwise.

 

I loved the Navy. So much that I bought a Ricky Williams jersey in that color, and it was the color scheme I painted my home theater/football viewing room.

And then they never wore it....awesome....

 

Selling a ton of updated Dolphin merchandise will help fund the stadium renovations. Also, on that page Hellion linked: http://www.dolphinslogo.com/ I liked the third over on the bottom row. No helmet, clean lines, more realistic looking dolphin. I would tweak the dolphins coloring though, as the right fin is almost invisible.

 

I remember having a similar kind of conversation with people a couple of years back.

A lot of people are with you on this, and while I don't think it's terrible, it looks too Auburn.

I am not a big fan. Mostly because it makes the Dolphins colors, blue, blue, orange and white. I am not a fan of having a color scheme that contains two shades of the same color.

 

The navy is cool but I prefer our other colors over it. If anything get rid of the orange jersey and try the navy maybe? But I like the aqua and white.

 

navy is nice, but it does look like a lot of other unis. They would have to to a lot better than the one of the early '00s. Orange, aqua and gray would be really unique and look good, so I prefer that.

 

When i said "Like these" it should have been in the form of a question...with the concept uniforms and backward logo. Although I do like this orange helmet except for the wide center stripe.

It wouldn't shock me if the 3rd one down in the 4th column (the pic with the orange background) is somewhere in the ballpark as to what it might look like.

And if that source is actually correct, it might signal a change back to a more blueish aqua.

That would be my guess as well. I think it fits what Dee said about mixing the old and new. I also expect the Dolphin to lose the helmet. No helmet and the sleeker profile feels modernized to me without being to far removed from the old logo. I mean no matter what people will complain, but IMO an update is needed.

 

I also really like that navy uni. I didn't think I would, but it looks awesome.

It does a really good job of keeping the helmet on the Dolphin while looking less cartoony/silly.

 

with the Marlins fiasco i guess this means no new stadium for the dolphins and i would not be suprised if miami loses all three of their sports because of themarlins fiasco.

 

I'd want the white gap at the front of the face to be more closed off than that b/c it looks weird when you focus on the face alone, but the design has a lot of potential.

 

this one is cool especialy the helmet and the dark helmet would be great with the whit unis as for the orange jerseys they are great I think the orange pants and white jerseys would be cool or vice
