One thing stood out to me, when he was asked about Philbin... 'We love coming to work now.' Very interesting. I think that may be more telling about the OLD regime, however, it's great to know that the new staff is making a good impression on the players.

 

I think people tend to over react to somebody saying they're excited about coming to work. It's not always a negative comment on the previous regime. Change in and of itself often inspires renewed excitement. I see the positive comments about Philbin as nothing more than that. They're expected of course since he's in the honeymoon phase so even that part is hardly news.

yep. it's the way he said it that implies some negativity towards the previous regime. But you can't blame him. His only exposure was last year when Tony was a lame duck who probably knew he was getting canned. no way that doesn't matriculate down through the staff and players at least to some extent.

People said the same about Sparano and I wouldn't be surprised if they said the same about Kotite.

 

Exactly, unless you're very new to the game, you've heard this hundreds if not thousands of times before. In fact, I can't think of a single time when a new coach has come in and you haven't heard at least one player say similar things about the new coach.

 

That is true. However, I don't just take what Pouncey said at face value. I think when you add comments that other players have made, alluding to Sparano 'micro-managing' the team, then you can start to piece together why the team fell apart last season. There's no way to be absolutely sure, as there will be conflicting stories, and no one is going to be 100% honest in the media. However, I think you can get a pretty good idea.

I don't think Sparano was a terrible coach, and I don't think Philbin is the next Don Shula. I'm just curious as to why Sparano failed as a head coach. Just like I was curious as to why Cam Cameron failed as a head coach. It might offer some insight.

 

Call me crazy but I think sparano/ Tebow/ true hybrid offense with the best hybrid player,will be successful.

 

I'm still not convinced that Sparano has an innovative bone in his body to be able to utilize Tebow correctly. Not to say Tebow won't have some success, but IMO it will be based on his sheer talent more than anything TS engineers. If anything, I think TS slows Tebow express down some.

 

You're not crazy. I just don't think that type of offense is going to have success in the NFL with Tebow. He's a threat running the ball, but he's not a viable threat throwing the ball. In fact, he's downright terrible throwing the ball. Unless he can turn that part of his game around, he's an over-hyped H-Back. I just don't think he can do it.

Perhaps RGIII might have success with that type of offense? Maybe... I don't know. I'm skeptical. He is more of a true 'dual-threat' than Tebow, IMO. I just don't think RGIII is 'great' throwing the ball, and while he has a ton of straight-line speed, I don't think he's elusive enough to avoid big hits. That's just my opinion, though. I could be wrong.

 

it's happening at the level I thought would happen, and the Jets are a prime example, some folks called me crazy when I talked about it evolving three years ago..I like what their doing Nas, and I think they have the right player to do it with..

 

that's why I call it a hybrid, because it's a combination of offenses.Sanchez has to execute his responsibility with energy and understanding, and the coaches need to work the wildcat into the scheme under proper down and distance situations and with The prototype wildcat Qb, He can throw well enough to infer the threat, and run well enough to move the chains.

The wildcat creates hesitation on the defenders. I think it should continue to evolve..

Nasty, you wouldn't like to see a Tannehill and Denard Robinson offense, you wouldn't like to see Denard take a snap and Tannehill not just hangin out with a corner on the side, but actually going out in route on special occasions?, lol, I would love it.
