You can add his rushing TD's if you like, it makes him look even worse.

Alen I agreed and said a 2nd rounder was me overeacting.

Stitches when will some of you realize Ginn is a bad WR and not a number 1. When will some of you realize that the 2007 draft was horrible. We have three guys remaining from that draft a Punter a Wide Reciever and a NT who has not started a game in his career.

lol.....you do realize you're not helping your argument, right?

Ginn has 7 total, returns, rushing and receiving in 2+ years......

Miles has scored 6 TD's in his last 28 receptions.

If Ginn is soooo valuable as some of you make him out to be, then maybe Miles is worth more than you may think.

Stitches those two TDs where rushing. Ginn was drafted as a WR not a RB.

    Get some math skills. 4 receiving TDs + 2 Rushing TDs + 1 return TD = 7.

Look lets forget about Austin. Look at Desean Jackson a player very similiar to Ginn who fights for everything he can on the field and leaves it all out there. Look at Marshall and Andre Johnson today and how they are fighting for yards. Look Austin how he kept looking for more and more yards.

Ginns is a what I eat and you all know it rimes with Sussy

Plenty of Ginn bashing threads out there.

I was making a point about Miles' worth, compared to what we have currently. Ginn just happens to help me make the point...

Maybe he wouldn't get bashed so much if some of you didn't spend so much time protecting him and taking shots at those that don't have a homeristic view of everything.

Yes, let's compare Ted Ginn to Brandon Marshall and Andre Johnson, two of the toughest WR's to take down in the entire league.

Ok then, how bout we compare him to the guy that is the subject of this thread.....

A guy who just made his first career start and who it seems most of you wouldn't give more than a 4th round pick for.

Compare him all you want. I just think it's a bit odd to compare him to arguably the best WR in the league, Andre Johnson, and a physical specimen like Brandon Marshall.

And no, I still wouldn't give up a fourth rounder for Miles Austin. I'll take him as a FA but give up picks for him? No.

Miles also has a Probowl QB that can stretch the field and a great supporting cast. Put him on this team and you'll be posting in the weekly "Miles Austin sucks, why did we trade for him?" thread.

You wouldn't give up a 4th round pick for a guy that averages better than one TD in every six receptions? A guy who lit it up for 250yds and two TD's in his first ever start?

Romo is no world beater for one.....and two we have a pretty damn good supporting cast as well.

You put Miles on this team and what you would have is at least one WR that's a threat to score.

But keep stereo-typing me if you feel it helps your argument...

I watched the Chiefs game. And I want to point out that as great as Austin played, he dropped not one, not two, but three potential TD passes in the course of the game, including one in the fourth quarter that would have prevented overtime.

I don't want to take away from his great day, at all, but for those of you just looking at the gaudy stat line, keep in mind that only tells half the story.

...against the Kansas City defense, which ranks 29th in the NFL. That's an important statistic to leave out of the conversation.

No, Dallas isn't going to give up on him, he fits their offense pretty well.

The Dallas offense is more of a threat to score than ours is, Romo is a big reason why.

Shhh...you're ruining the "bash Ted Ginn" thread. :pointlol:

No one is making Austin out to be this all world WR that we must have....just pointing out that you are dissing a guy that has been more productive in terms of TD receptions, than our entire WR unt.

I knew that there'd be an Austin thread while watching the game ... considering the Dallas ties, etc.

Austin had a huge day but dropped a few TDs. Romo just kept feeding him.

Our guy has a huge game, but drops a few TDs and we never target him again.

Not saying that there's necessarily a parallel there, but it's just an interesting comparison.

And you have to understand why, it's because Dallas has a better offense and a QB that can get him the ball. Opposing defenses respect the Dallas passing game, they don't respect ours, that means that they play tighter on our WR's because they know the ball isn't going to go over their head for 6. Hopefully Henne can change that, but for the past however many years, it's been hard for any of our WR's to get YAC and make big plays.

It's actually a Miles Austin vs what we currently have at WR, comparison thread.

It's funny you see it that way........I see a bash the bashers thread. As if that's sooo much better and doesn't just add more clutter.

Denver is 5-0 and just beat the Cowboys and Pats, with a rookie RB and Kyle Freakin Orton.....

    How did they do that?

I know brother, I was agreeing with you. :knucks:

Exactly, it's as if our coaching staff doesn't have confidence in the passing game to keep putting the ball in their hands. Whether part of that was the Pennington factor, I'm not sure, but it seems as if running the ball is the goal and passing is secondary. Not that I'm surprised, but it would be nice to stretch the field and relieve some of the squeezing from the opposing defense. I don't see anything wrong with going back to a player that makes a mistake, that's how they learn, you don't wait a week to see if he has corrected the issue IMO.

This is true, but I like the fact Dallas will rethink who they need need to start next week.
Crayton ain't cutting it and Williams is overrated(nevermind, overpriced)
Austin now earned his stripes and Romo WILL be looking for him in the passing game.

Any thread that mentions a WR turns into a Ted Ginn bash-a-thon, just like any RB thread used to turn into a bash Ronnie thread.

Actually it has been their defense (ranked 3rd) and running game (ranked 6th) that have propelled them to that record. Their passing game is middle of the road (ranked 16th).

*edit - And Marshall has only accounted for 16 catches, 219 yards and 2 TD's. Not exactly a stellar stat line.

You cannot be comparing Marshall with Miles Austin can you? Really? REALLY?

Austin is a good roleplayer, but he is not going to kick our offense to a new level and in no way shape or form is worth a second round pick.

Maybe it wouldn't if guys didn't have to rush to his rescue with ridiculous excuses every time his name is mentioned. You act as tho the "bashers" are the only ones keeping it going.....They're not

And yet the two key plays in the past two wins (against teams that solidified their power ranking) were passes by Orton to Marshall

    2 VERY BIG TD'S

Only after the game had gone into OT. What if our D had been able to shut down the Colts and force OT?

When Austin had the chance to catch the go-ahead points in regulation (that would have made it a 2 score game and ended it early) he dropped it.

Actually no...I didn't. And if you slow down and read the thread you will see that.

L2G inferred that a play maker was useless on a team that didn't have a good QB or offense.... I was just straightening that out for him
