Reminds me of last year when there were daily reports of OV beating the tar out of Jonathan Martin. OV followed that up with a nice season from a pure sack total standpoint but not that great of a season from a total pass rush effectiveness standpoint. And of course it was an obvious sign that Jonathan Martin was hot garbage. Let's hope history not repeating itself. OV is probably just one of those guys that looks great in practice when everyone's not quite going full speed. And it would make a lot of sense if Branden Albert, a 7th year veteran who has battled injury issues, is going only half-speed for a mid-June padless mini camp scrimmage. So I wouldn't raise any alarm flags on Albert over this.
On the other hand, Cameron Wake is notorious for not going full speed in mini camps, and so him beating the tar out of JaWuan James could be a sign of concern. But at the same time, it may be that Wake has taken it upon himself to go full faster than he usually would at this point so that he can whip the rookie 1st round pick into shape. That's plausible. And I think all these reports of interior pressure from the DTs are definitely concerning. That's just because this is a potential area of weakness for Miami with Billy Turner being a rookie, Dallas Thomas having been a disappointment a year ago, and Shelley Smith's primary weakness as a right guard being pass pro.
3 and out for Matt Moore's group. 10-10 now. It's redzone this half, so too many FGs means our offense stinks.
