Always liked Misi but the guy needs to retire for his own benefit. He has young children.

And for the benefit of the team. If you can't be on the field regularly, you're not a player that can be counted on. Probably time to hang it up. Thanks for trying.

Ok, at least they know and probably have known. What are cap savings? Time to sign Landry
-
He sucks. Guy can't healthy and is not very good when he is.
-
Lol, take it easy guys, they drafted his replacement for criminies sake, and when healthy the guy is a solid LB, believe me our run D would have been better had he played last year.
There is NO savings in cutting Misi, only loss, he is scheduled to make 3 mil this year, his dead cap is 5.5, so unless he retires he'll be on the team, so you might want to go ahead and warm up to that, lol, and btw, he is a wealth of info for Kwon, Misi knows the job and doesn't make mistakes.Dolphin North, resnor, SocaCasualuk and 2 others like this. -
If you compare Misi to Reshad in regards to games played you see that Misi has missed 10 more games than Reshad over the last 7 years. That comes out to less than 1.5 games per season more than Jones. Now, of course he's not as good as Jones, but Misi is actually a very solid LB'er. Misi averages about 14 played games per season.
In comparison here are some random LB'ers:
Dumervil: 14.5 games per season
Hightower: 13.5
Von Miller: 14.7
Misi doesn't miss an inordinate amount of games in regards to NFL LB'ers. -
He is and has been a solid LB, it's not by accident that he's stuck around here under multiple regimes, he's smart and tough, albeit a little fragile. -
There's a reason why Misi has been on the roster so long. He isn't Jamie Collins or Dont'a Hightower by any means, but he's one of a small handful of linebackers in the league who can play all phases of basically any linebacker position at least at a solid level.
If he's got to retire they got burned on their gamble, but people are acting like the team should have known his injury would have been career ending and that's entirely different from his tendency to miss a couple of games every year. -
omg is it camp yet?
Thurs can't come soon enough -

Legitimately hope he recovers, even if he doesn't play another down with us or in the NFL. Those neck injuries can be scary (look at IAQ).
Definitely goes on the shopping list for next year (again). Interested to see who is going to get cut from other teams. -

Misi, has been a weight around our neck for too long. He has given (whomever) the GM is a false reason to not treat the LB situation as urgent.
It has been without question the most ignored position before last season as I have ever seen.
Thankfully, we decided to finally allot some assets to improving the unit.
