Dan Henning has to figure out more ways to get Brandon Marshall the ball.
Marshall had another OK day, catching five passes for 64 yards including a key 25-yarder that got the Dolphins out of the shadow of their goal line and started what proved to be their lone touchdown drive. But facing double coverage on almost every play, he struggled to get open downfield, and Henning resorted to call a couple of plays for him where he caught passes behind the line of scrimmage and then tried to make something happen.
Marshall has great hands and his 6-foot-4 frame gives him an advantage over almost every defensive back in going up for balls. The one thing Henning can’t ever settle for is having the Dolphins’ most dynamic offensive weapon being turned into a decoy.
the reason hes doubled all the time is because we have 2 or 3 guys max running routes... we need to stop running max protect all the damn time, let them bring a blitz and let Henne find the open man...
we need to run Marshall, Bess, Hartline with Fasano and a back out on patterns often, and not Polite... or run 4 wides with Wallace and make them cover someone with a safety... if not we'll be seeing double teams all day...
i remember the play where Henne threw the pick, they showed the overhead cam and we ran 3 guys out on the pattern and all 3 were double covered... is that really a surprise? im sure that happens more than we know...

DisgustipatesubscriberAre they going to keep putting out these articles every time Brandon Marshall fails to have a 10 catch game? He's #3 in the league in targets and on pace for the best yardage of his career.
