I was thinking about getting MLB tv so i can watch the yankee games, since ill be out in vegas and can't get any of them. I was wondering if anyone used, or uses it, and if its worth it, and if you get to watch all the games. Thanks
Pretty sure you get every game, Im a Mariners fan on the east coast and have to get up at 5 AM in the summer hours, so Im not able to stay up and watch games that start at 10-1030 EST. Or I would have it in a heartbeat.
I had it two seasons ago and really liked it. Never had any problems with connections or quality. The only thing that sucked was that you ALWAYS got the home teams feeds. However, the Extra Innings package does this as well, so I guess it's not that big of a deal. For the price, and the fact they let you pay by the month, I say it's definitely worth it.
JT - yes, love it....get all the games whether at home in DC area, or via laptop in hotel rooms when I travel. (Actually Yanks offer YES network viewers via MLB.TV the ability to see even if in market...so its never blocked for Yanks fans) ....just another thing that organization does to show value back to the fans for any game you can now choose Home or Away broadcast teams....and if you do the highest package (~$119) you can get radio calls too (even if blackout video) Thats, great for cell phones that dont allow video too)....or with iPhone or Touch you can get the MLB.tv app for video and sound off those devices too (~$15). Really, they have improved it every year to give options...and watching 4 games at once on screen is really cool, especially for tracking Fantasy teams (and you get notified when your Fantasy players are at bat, or pitching).
You can hook up MLB.tv to your DVR and record????? I hook up my Laptop to my HD TV and broadcast MLB.TV in HD to the widescreen....but dont think I have ability to record it (unless I do and just dont know how???). Bummer...nice idea though.
whats a good chord to get to connect my laptop to tv, does not have to bee long, but i dont want it to be expensive. I got the package for 99$, 20$ off with the sports illustrated trial, i need to cancel it now so i dont get charged in 3 months
http://www.monoprice.com/home/ (thanks to Stiches/Pete for this site) HDMI cable ($9), and depends on what laptop you have and what connection you may need to connect from Laptop to HDMI. http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10240&cs_id=1024004&p_id=3661&seq=1&format=2 I have a Dell Latitude, so I had to purchase their properitary "Display Port" adapter to HDMI connector ($20) then the HDMI cable above, but it works great for displaying my laptop in HD to TV. And a simple auxillary jack audio cable to get the sound from laptop to TV. $15 to buy the iPhone app....you need your MLB.TV account to watch the games though the app.
The HDMI will (also presuming your TV has direct HDMI ports), but the DELL adapter is specific to DELL....what connection options does your HP offer?? Figure out if your TV takes HDMI, or DVI...then figure out if your Laptop has direct DVI or HDMI, or something else. Usually its a DVI port, or HDMI direct, if not figure out what ports you have (or if HP has something similar to DELL), then you can use the site to search for a converter to HDMI cable you need. Usually DVI to HDMI is all thats necessary, so depends on what HP uses.
So the blackout thing, you need the yes package to watch every game? Because todays game is blacked out on MLB.com.
Yeah, Sat Nationally televised afternoon games by FOX blocks out all afternoon games. But if you have the radio feed you can still listen (and the new AT BAT feature via the Website SCOREBOARD feature, syncs the audio feed perfectly)....but any NATL TV game will be blacked out by MLB.TV app.
thats not that bad, that case i can just watch it on tv, im at work now, so i have no tv, but realized there is a tv in the back room so i put that on
