Yeah. Looks like ol' graybeard has his fastball tonight. Although, the officials just gave him a gift calling a PI on Woodson that was a mirage.
Regardless if it was offsides or not, it wasn't PI. Not even close. It ws indeed a bailout call for Fayvree
Remember that time I caught hell for saying sports media uses labels like "high motor" for white players? Mortensen in this game gushed over Jared Allen and used the term "high motor" several times.
Do you understand offsides? Offsides=free play=NO INT. I agree that it was a weak PI but it wouldn't have mattered.
I agree. I just hate the label of hight motor used pretty much only to describe white players by the sports media. I'm not saying they are being horribly racist, I just don't like it. Kind of a pet peeve if you will.
What's not athletic about the guy? What makes him any different than any other great DE to the point you would say one is athletic and one isn't?
Man, that O-line is giving Fayvree days to throw the rock EDIT: They haven't been mentioned that much ot seems like, but if they stay healthy, have to be between them and the Gints from the NFC at this point I would say.
I think the FB actually had a TD on that goal-line stand. it looked like he fumbled it when he got hit and didn't really recover it until he had rolled into the end zone. i suppose it wasn't worth challenging to the packers due to the low chance it would have been overturned but I'd be interested to see that a few more times
Doesn't a shoulder count as being down? Ball never broke the plane when he slid on his shoulder. They got it right IMO.
I'm guessing there might be some sarcasm here, but it's true. Because black players have every bit the "high motor" as white players and white players are also "athletic".
I recall hearing high motor for a lot of non white players. even the one asian guy ever, dat nguyen I mean, look at the superlatives heaped on Jason Taylor. It definitely is not his superior strength that made him so great. That said, Jared Allen was a beast today. He doesnt' look physically impressive. Must be his high motor.
Packers closed the gap toward the end of the game. Lambeau Field's going to be one rowdy stadium on November 1st for the rematch.
Their LT was out with an injury. They had to reshuffle their whole Oline and as a result Rodgers was running for his life all night long. I think if their Oline was healthy they'd have had a better shot at winning the game. Your QB is not going to last all year long taking shots like that every game.
did anyone else get confused? id be half watching rooting for Rogers for my fantasy team, but Id forget, and think Farve was still a Packer, watching out of the corner of my eye. And the Id be like,"oh yeah."
Only because the Vikings changed their defensive strategy. They rushed 4 for the most part of those final 4 mins. Thats typical Minnesota football when they get a lead they usually switch to some sort of prevent.
As the resident Packers GM, I feel qualified to speak on this. They had problems before Clifton got hurt. They are starting Allen Barbre at RT. He is complete garbage. Adewale Ogunleye completely destroyed him in week one. They basically have no RT. I think Anthony Fasano could do better than Allen Barbre. After Clifton got hurt, they became a NFL team with an NCAA offensive line. When I was GMing the Pack this year, the hardest hole to fill was at OT. I ended up keeping Mark Tauscher instead of giving up the farm. The real life Packers didn't resign Tauscher and instead drafted Jamon Meredith out of South Carolina in the 5th round. I thought this was a steal. But Green Bay let him slip to the practice squad, and Buffalo snatched him up. Green Bay could set a record this year for sacks allowed. It's going to cost them their season.
