    Awesome.

They make you spend $60 for a game, and then right after they make you spend $xx.xx for an additional 3 DLC map packs, they unveil the next COD.

    Brilliant.

Hopefully better than MW2... that game had some of the most miserable online play I've experienced from a COD title.

Not sure exactly how they "make" you spend $60 for the game, or how they "make" you buy DLC.

    Singleplayer > multiplayer. :shifty:

Should be interesting to see how BF3 and MW3 stack up against each other.

You get my point. They prey on the kids with daddy's credit card. Gotta have this, gotta have that. "Can't play anymore because I dont have these maps", etc.

Have fun with it either way. Hope you enjoy the new maps. People complain about Madden being recycled, exactly what innovation has COD implemented over the last 3-4 titles that have changed the game with the exception of dual wield shotguns, rc cars, throwable knives, and a cross bow? Nothing.

Uh, how many games and toys don't prey on kids with their parents' credit cards?

If you mean the new Black Ops maps, I won't enjoy them because I don't have the game (nor would I be buying them if I did).

If you mean new maps from MW3, I'm sure I will enjoy them. I'm also sure I'll not pay $60 for it when it's all said and done (paid $48 for BO, got a $20 credit with it, and then traded it in for $30.75).

I'm also not one of the people who complain about Madden being recycled, so you're probably barking up the wrong tree.

I play both COD MW2 and COD BO without the new maps regularly. I don't see what the big deal is about paying $15.00 for new maps though. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Stitches, where in my post was I referring directly to you? Get your panties ouuta the knot there bud.
And when I said have fun with it, I wasn't being sarcastic...

You guys are obviously fans of COD, and I have my own preferences. Let's leave our differences at that.

If you wanna pay however much you pay with credits and all that for a reskin, be my guest. I will be doing the same thing for Madden without a complaint.

Fps gaming for me now is Arma II until BF3 and PR:Arma II comes out.

And btw, my point was the cod franchise has become all about the money with little to no game advances from the last 3-4 titles. The Madden of fps games. Whether you buy the game or not, love the game or hate it, is there any evidence opposing my view?

I am curious of the cod fans' opinion.

I enjoyed the wager matches, the ability to play split screen online, the new weapons/killstreaks, etc. What exactly are you expecting to see for "advancements" in COD? It's not like I thought the gameplay was better in BO, but a lot of people did. However it's not like I feel like I wasted $60 on that game (IMO).

When you said "hope you enjoy the new maps" it sure seemed like you were referring to me. And my panties aren't in a knot, I was just replying to your post.
If I played on a computer regularly, I'm sure I'd have interest in Arma II. Alas my computer is quite old and only used for basics (not to mention I don't have enough time for console gaming as is).

I honestly didn't know the COD franchise wasn't all about the money, though I've only ever played 3 titles (MW, MW2, and BO). It probably is the madden of FPS games, just like Dynasty Warriors is the Madden of hack 'n' slash games (which I love those games by the way).

I would think most companies would love to have a "Madden of ____ games" to publish each year. Also just because there is little upgrade/alteration/advancement it doesn't mean it isn't worth the cost if you get enjoyment out of it.

I Just think it is being overdone lately, that is all. Hopefully MW3 is refreshing...Vietnam maybe, back to WWII? I don't know, they have to do something different.

Another Call of Duty. Meh. Infinity Ward, even more meh. I'll stick to BF3, and not a re-skin.

The “old” Infinity Ward isn’t. After West and Zampella left, a bunch of IW guys quit as well and followed them to their new outfit. IW is still making COD games, but at this point they’re basically a new developer working off whatever notes and references they have, including developers who stayed on.

IIRC, Activision with Black Ops began a three year cycle: they have three different developers making COD games, and those developers will release their game once every three years. So we get annual COD games, but from different developers.

Hopefully this IW team does better than the last one. MW2 was terrible imo. Don't think I'll be getting MW3 though. COD just isn't my style.

I thought MW2’s single player was fantastic, and fixed most of the problems with COD4.

Multi… who cares, every online FPS sucks after the epic experience that was Quake 2. (Except maybe Team Fortress 2.)

I care. And I feel all COD games are trash singleplayer also. Run and gun does nothing for me personally.

I wouldn’t call MW2 “run and gun”. You get shot down pretty quickly if you do that. “Nade and knife”, maybe.

Either way, Assassin’s Creed Revelations is the one game to get in November.

That it is. Your November candidates are:

    Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
    Battlefield 3
    Uncharted 3
    Assassin’s Creed Revelations
    Modern Warfare 3

Treyarch isn’t developing, so don’t count on it being Black Ops 2.0.

Yeah, I knew that I was just hoping maybe they would try and copy some of what Treyarch did. I'm guessing no zombies in MW3 which might be a deal breaker for me.

Well if it follows along the storyline of MW2, It will depend on the multiplayer portion of the game. I have 0 interest in a continuation of that cluster**** of a storyline.

I thought the storyline was pretty good. Some of the details weren’t as fleshed out as they could have been, but overall, it’s a pretty good ride.

I’m just hoping they finally get rid of the “shoot a guy 5 times but he’s still alive and physically functioning” thing. The continual off-screen respawns are annoying, too. But hey, CoD has had that since the first game, it’s doubtful they’d eliminate that now.

im with you... MW2's single player storyline was very good, IMHO. especially compared to BO on PC. i felt like all i had to do in BO's single player was keep going straight forward. and when i get fed up with online hacks in MW2multi, replaying the airplane graveyard gives the same feel as multi without aimbots and wall hacks.
