It's funny how much the real trailers are so much like the goof trailer that someone posted a couple pages back in this thread...Holy hell these MW campaigns are piles of dog****. No amount of "awesome exploding stuff" cut scenes will change that.
My only problem with the trailer is that the footage is obviously from the 360 version. I think Activision harmed themselves by allowing EA to get away with marketing the PC version of BF3 while MW3's footage is all from the 360. Otherwise, this looks like a pretty wild campaign and a natural conclusion to MW2. Which is fine with me, so long as MW3 doesn't try to pretend that it's in any way realistic as CoD4 attempted.
My only proble with the footage is it's 100% ****ty cut scenes which do nothing to demonstrate actual gameplay. But it's par for the course for video games. This campaign will be terrible. The only question that remains is will the multiplayer be better than MW2?
They've shown off more of MW3's single player than EA has shown of BF3's single player. Most of BF3's footage is multiplayer, specifically the Operation Métro map. Some Caspian Border mixed in. There's part of a single player mission (Fault Line) in the debut trailer and some footage of an assault on a Tehran apartment in a second single player map. That's about it.
There is also this one about a tank misison. MW3 will surely be better than MW2, but more of the same as well. Multiplayer is what it is and has a huge fan base. Why fix what isn't broken. As for the single player, well, it looks exciting to say the least.
I'd imagine the console versions already have had a drop in users as they trade BF3 in for MW3. Not so on the PC version.
Have had the game for an hour. But can't log in until 1215.....Ps3. Name is ether79. Friend me if ya wanna rock it out
Got mine a day early thanks to Amazon so couldn't take it online but did manage to complete the campaign in just over 4 hours. Pretty impressed to be honest and some of the graphics for the locations are amazing and instantly recognizable. The game is Non stop, even on a few of the levels where you start off fairly low key soon turn in to a sh*t storm! A lot better than MW2. Hopefully get online tonight, if you want add on the 360 GT is baboo72.
Wow, campaign only took 4 hours? Normally I'd be pissed and say that's too short, but since I couldn't give 2 steaming turds about the campaign, I guess it doesn't really matter. I'll be on tonight for sure. I'm ready for it after taking a couple month break from Black Ops.
You get the feeling they'd completely cut out the campaign if they could, and charge $60 just for the multiplayer. I think one day we may see that.
Anyone feel like they die instantaneously when shot? I know the guns were beefed up to compensate for the lack of stopping power, but this is ridiculous...
I tend to just get it out of the way so can go to multiplayer. I know the story is pretty predictable but it doesn't feel as "cartoony" (if that makes sense?!) than MW2
Same old same old. Same exact engine, sounds, and gameplay as the last Infinity Ward game, which was downright awful. Hopefully there aren't any game killing weapon imbalances like the last one to actually make this game playable.
Are you actually playing the game? I'm asking honestly because I'm wondering if this is real feedback or just your assumptions.
Played it for an hour. Now trying to fix my turtle beaches that this ****ty game seemingly broke. But yea, same exact game engine, same sounds, and same cheesy gameplay. I've given IW another chance since I thought the first MW was pretty good, but this will be the last one I buy from them.
Game is really fast paced.. I'm a 2 and change KD player and I'm at a 1/1 ratio atm. Digging the game so far. Guns are good, Maps are good, Strike Packages are good, customization is good, etc... It's been a blast so far.
I might play this now. I hated how many times you had to shoot a dude in MW2. Unless it's the arm or something one shot should drop you.
Just got another 2 hours in. Just an awful game. Even more killstreaks ruling the skies than the last one. Some of the worst maps I've ever played in a game. I'm all for urban warfare but get real. On the plus side, not many snipers because of it. Models are back and just as ridiculously overpowered as before, but at least they're a primary now. But yea, just turned my xbox off after a map where one guy the other team went 41-5 and another 32-5 while both of them had killstreaks in the air the entire match. Only about 3 hours of gameplay in, but like I said in a previous post, nothing more than a $60 re-skin and map pack of one of the worst multiplayer shooters to ever be released in MW2. A shame too, no idea how it got to be so bad when MW1 was such a good game, but definitely through with infinity ward and treyarch for sure. Edit - I also didn't see any of the wager matches from Black Ops. Shame, those were actually fun to play. Also, on the plus side, the servers aren't a disaster like when Black Ops was released. Only been dropped from a match once, and lag seems to be about what you'd expect from a call of duty game. Hit detection is off though.
I wouldn't say that. Was hoping IW would wise up and make the game more like MW1, but, they didn't, and I won't make the same mistake again. I had a feeling it was all wishful thinking on my part though, and sadly I was right.
Not when you have 1 rocket, and everytime you shoot at something it deploys flares, all while needing to be hit by several rockets to go down. Of course I only have the default rockets, but skies filled with killstreaks is just a terrible idea. Especially when kills from these killstreaks count towards mosre killstreaks, which is what made MW2 one of the worst games ever developed. It's ridiculous, and completely overpowered, and completely ruins matches when you have that one guy camping in a corner for killstreaks, which is every match.
I dunno, I have played for over 5 hours and havent noticed anything that drastic. I ran into a few k/d ratios that were pretty outrageous, but overall I dont see the things you are talking about.
This post sums it up I believe. The kill streaks counting towards more kill streaks is a bad idea IMO. I haven't played the game, but I did play MW2 on cracked servers for the PC. Anyways, it is what everyone expected, and what everyone loves to play. For others, there are other games out there.
