I don't know about everyone else out there but I think there are a lot of positives from the Monday Night game. Although we were shredded at times I still believe this defense is solid and will show its worth over the course of the season. The biggest plus for me was the way we actually managed to get Brandon Marshall involved and how much more confident Chad Henne was looking. People, don't forget we were up against one of the all time greats at QB and he was on fire. Sometimes you have to take it on the chin. Yes, we do have to get a little more pressure on the QB but the season isn't over being beaten by probably one of the best teams in the league. I am looking towards a marked improvement defensively this week and genuinely believe we've got a great chance of beating the Texans. Would like to hear your thoughts.

There are 15 games left, and gm #1 is more or less the 5th preseason game and the first that the Starters played the entire time so it is difficult to really take much away from gm #1 except for that is a really good patriots team.

I agree that the upcoming game against the Texans will likely be a better barometer of what this team is capable of this season. But, to me it's more about the strategy leading up to the game (game plan), and in game adjustments (coaching), than it is players (execution). Not that execution, or lack thereof, play a critical role in the outcome of last Monday night's game. But, I think having a better game plan and making better coaching decisions will put players in a better position to make plays and be successful.

I felt like we had the talent to be competitive, it was just that we were outcoached. They had a focused gameplan and made the right calls in all the situations. Despite how much we were shredded, it was really two coaching calls on back to back plays that threw a potentially 14 point swing. Now I understand that Sapp was getting beat like a drum but he had been all game and the coaches should have recognized it.
We have the players to win, lets just figure out how to pull it off. -

I don't think we should simply roll over and die, as you said, this is only one game. Losing to the pasties, no matter how you look at it, is only one minor step above losing to the jests, imho...so I can't share your optimism that everything is rosy... There were certainly some good things to come out of the game, but losing to the pasties or jests just isn't on my list of good things, no matter how close or how badly we were beaten... -
There are some positive things but unfortunately there are a lot more negatives. If you sit and watch the game again or even just think about the game it is hard to look past the negatives to pick out the positives. Henne looked good and did some things we've never seen before, Marshall was great, Bush was good as a complimentary back just like in NO. But, still no running game, how longs it been? The offensive line was struggling everywhere except apparently our rookie Center. Still no second TE. The defense is a whole other chapter I don't need to rehash.
