Add in Johnson being waived, and we are looking at starting the season with a very young Wr corps.
Apparently Karlos Dansby is wee-wee'd over Johnson being waived, yeah well.
A single injury at the wrong time, even a minor one, can literally sink a career, this is one of the reasons why the NFL minor league makes sense to me.

Yeah, really. STFU Dansby.

Just occured to me, with Hartline being out, and Johnson being waived, who was the #3 wr on the depth chart?
I thought it was BJ Cunningham or was it Marlon Moore? Either way there is now a job position open and not just theoritically.
Move Bess out there and who then moves into the slot? Clay or Bush plays the slot in situations? -

Philbin needs to remind Dansby that he has been nothing special and should be GREATFULL he is still being paid top 3 LB money.
Cant wait to draft that dudes replacement.Sleepy and JMORGAN6977 like this. -

If he's that bent out of shape about it, cut his *** and he can Chad can comiserate over a basket of chicken wings at Ruby Tuesday's. -
I like the decision to waive Johnson, I can guess why Dansby is REALLY unhappy.
He sees the same Wr corps we do, he wants to win football games.
Philbin dumping Johnson reminds me of something Shula would have done.Sleepy, Marco, FinNasty and 1 other person like this. -

Wooden, straight-laced dudes dot always click well with outgoing jester types. But you'd expect Dansby to be more pro than this. He better fall in line. -
Ruby Tuesdays is still around?

If I'm Joe Philbin and I hear that Karlos Dansby is unhappy and chirping about my cutting Chad Johnson, I smile because I know I just sent a message and I just took a step toward changing the culture.

Karlos is a veteran and leader on that defense. If he shows it's okay to Publically question Philbins decisions, he sets a bad example that let's other defensive players feel more comfortable doing the same thing. -
Personally, I hope they re-sign chad in the near future when the dust settles if the situation points to Chad being victimized by a crazy Eve. But that is just me.bberg likes this. -

You know if this escalated with Dansby this week, I wouldn't be against Philbin reassertion control by playing Trusnik or Spitler with first unit and dropping Karlos to second unit.
"Fall in line and don't question me on the damned radio! You bring that **** to me behind closed doors."
"**** that coach." and Dansby rocks the boat more... I'd send a shot across his bow.ToddPhin likes this. -
PASS 10 out of 10 times.
The Dolphins got rid of 1 diva WR this offseason, they should have known what they were getting in to with Chad. With or without the wife beating it would have ended poorly. You could already see his attitude on Hard Knocks, which was the last thing a new regime needed. Let's rebuild this team the right way, not the fast way.Bpk likes this. -
Philbin strikes me as a one warning kind of guy, then you get punished.

Man, I cant believe Dansby is getting hate on here just b/c he didn’t like that CJ was cut. Its not like the guy is rebelling from the coaches, or refusing to work, or anything like that. He’s entitled to not be happy with the decision. It doesn’t matter that he isn’t happy with it… but he has every right not to agree with it. Players disagree with upper management’s personnel moves all the time. That doesn’t make Dansby a bad guy, or a bad player, or a bad teammate…

Just a shame to see a guy that cares so much be so stupid during his initial press conference that ended up being his demise.djphinfan likes this. -

Instead, he comes off as prick and is the person extending the drama here. -
By getting rid of a distraction, the Dolphins may have created an even bigger one.
Middle linebacker Karlos Dansby, appearing on WMEN in Ft. Lauderdale with Sid Rosenberg, said that the leader of the team’s defense disagrees with the decision to cut receiver Chad Johnson loose.
“It’s going to be a bigger distraction because we let him go,” Dansby said, via excerpts of the show disseminated by WMEN. “He didn’t get that third strike. That’s just me personally. . . . We’ve been through worse. We’ve seen worse.”
But Johnson was on a one-strike arrangement. And it sounds like the coaching staff and/or front office didn’t do a good enough job explaining that to the team leaders when Johnson was signed.
Even if the players knew or should have known that Chad was in danger of being dumped if he made only one mistake, Dansby isn’t buying that Chad head-butted his wife.
“That’s not Chad,” Dansby said. “If anybody knows Chad, that’s not Chad.”
Dansby specifically said he’s “upset” that Chad was cut. “The man don’t drink, the man don’t smoke,” Dansby said. “He may clown around but when it comes to football, he’s all about football. That’s his life. For him to be in this situation, that’s unfortunate. And it’s out of character.”
100 percent agree with Dansby, I believe Chad was not the instigator, nor do I believe he headbutted that *****, however, you can't take the chance of letting that particular relationship hang around your franchise, and you must make sure you bond your team moving forward. -
Do we know what Dansby actually said? Or are we just going to overreact until we find out?
Edit: There's the link. Thanks.
Chad brings an upbeat personality to the team. I think its natural some players are going to be upset. I don't think Dansby should have said anything. I think this will blow over once he and the others realize that it had to be done in order to walk the walk, guilty or not. -

Maybe 58 needs to concentrate on his adjusting to the 4-3 wich was supposed to play to his strengths, but he was obviously hitting the wrong holes and over pursuing Friday night.
His comments were pointless and potentially could divide the team. He is a jerk off who doesn't belong in this rebuilding process. -
But more important is the fact that the players just learned something they didn't know, and don't like.Pandarilla likes this.
