(His 5 Td 10 int performance in Carolina eats into his 15/7 and 8/2 in 11/09)
My conclusion
Moore is above Avg in Td to Int ratio and Qbr, but otherwise more or less avgwheels among the Qb's taken from 2007 forwards, not what I'd hoped, but it is what the numbers say.
Naturally excluded guys who no longer play in Quinn and Russel, excluded T Jackson as well as I think he was drafted in 06.

Should have excluded Skelton if you planned on comparing him to guys intended to start.

I just looked at drafted guys who started more then a small handful of games.
Surprising how well Moore holds up, rough estimate his play would rank him #3, behind Newton and Stafford, tied with Ryan. -
Thanks for putting this together Padre, but to me it's very simple: Matt Moore is a pretty good QB. However, he is not a guy to try and build a franchise around. Carolina made that mistake. Let's not hope for our Dolphins to repeat it. Hopefully we can keep him around as one of the best backups in the league.

As for the numbers, make of them what one will, it is plain he outplayed several #1 pick Qb's, and not just the clear busts like Russell, where the Franchise goes from here with this performance on the books is one of the more interesting things of this offseason. -
Ok wait your comparing Moores one season to others with multible season? If so what about Moores other starts with Carolina? Shouldnt those be factored in as well?

It would be like taking a fmr reliever and making him a starter, then using his reliever performance to determine is performance as a starting pitcher. -
Doesnt matter, games played are games played, doesnt matter if they were consecutive or not. Otherward the data is scewed and unreliable.

Thats why you are a quality poster. -

With 2011 being the litmus test, and he's 15/7, it's fairly clear which one showed to be more accurate.
To add T-Jax's Comp of 59/Td to int of 37/34 and QBR of 77.8 would not add much to the stats, if anything it would probably make Moore look better.
Which is somewhat fascinating, if it is taken back to 06, MMoore still holds up vs Leinart and Young and Jackson -
In fact I'll give Moore more credit because If memory serves me correctly Strock wasnt as good at starting as he was coming off the bench. WoodStrock was without a doubt the best one two QB punch ever. Someone made a comment about Woodley getting Miami to the SB when infact it was the combo of Woodstrock and even more so Andre Franklin and the Killer B's. Thats why Wash. took away Franklin in the run game forcing us to pass and attact our small B's with the power run.
Anyways thanks for your effort on getting the numbers. -
Moore is a decent backup QB who has shown that he can play well during parts of a game. Especially against other bad football teams or bad defenses. What he hasn't shown is that he can lead the team to a victory against the better teams in the NFL. He also seems to disappear in the fourth quarter of games.
The number one need for the Dolphins, if they ever expect to be anything other then a bad to mediocre NFL football team, remains exactly what it was prior to this season, a franchise QB. Moore only appears to be a good NFL QB to many Dolphin fans, because Henne was so terrible as the Dolphins starting QB.
If the Dolphins are forced to settle for Moore as the teams starting QB next year, I suspect that the Dolphins will once again be in a battle with the Buffalo Bills, in an effort to avoid finishing last in the AFC East again.
