Willis would probably be better option than Marc Colombo at RT.

The Dolphins continue to add depth to their OL. They signed Seahawks OT Ray Willis Saturday.

AFAIK it was a simple cartilage issue with his knee. At least that's what Pete Carroll said early last year.

Another guy with position flexibility. Has played both sides.

 

Both sides and Guard. Better at the latter IMO.

 

so maybe he tries at the LG position ?

 

need something as Colombo doesn't inspire confidence ....

 

All of this OT hunting has me wondering what the issue is w Jake Long.

 

Mentioned it earlier this week , hope it is just being paranoid .

 

I hope that we didnt put a lot of money into Columbo for if we did and he doesnt pan out then we will be in year six of the oline rebuild . I will give the front office credit for bringing in more olinemen even if it is for depth.

They switch Carey to LG it'll be the best move they've made in years.

Is an excellent mix on the line. Pass protection's not that bad from the right side either. Willis was above average-good at that in 2009. He's a good run blocker from what I remember. The bonus of that line is that you have such a powerful left side that you simply have a money option on each play. Consider that they'll playing against a team's weak side on each play and there could be some devastating results out of Long-Carey.

 

Look, if Columbo doesn't pan out they can always cut him before the final 53. If we have spaces to fill right now bring in whomever we can.
