...ALL THIS FOR A THIRD ROUND PICK
Morrison has never missed a game in 5 years
He has had all 5 seasons with 100+ tackles
Last season he had 133 tackles with 2 sacks and 3 forced fumbles
He just turned 28 years old
Sign him up ALREADY....PLEASE
At least we would get production from a 3rd rounder unlike last season

Raiders fans don't seem that sorry to see him go.

I could be wrong but I just don't think he fits the size of linebacker Parcells goes after. He is only 6'1" and 238 lbs. I think he is a good linebacker though. I am still hoping for Dansby which wont cost us a draft pick. Of course Dansby is only 6'4" and only weighs 243 lbs. So I guess we will see.

I'd be interested to hear what our guru's think of Morrison, is he an ILB? (Article didn't say Ilb or OLB.) -
Man, I dunno. A third seems very reasonable for a LB with his track record. BTW, and not to nit pick his size, but I see him listed as 6'2" 240lbs. http://www.nfl.com/players/kirkmorrison/profile?id=MOR611612
And, like miamiron said, he just turned 28, so you've got several years of prime production left. Not sure how he fits Nolan's scheme, but I think you have to at least consider him, don't you? I mean, if nothing else maybe he's a fall back if they don't land Dansby? :confused2:miamiron likes this. -
I got the size info from Pro-Football Reference.com. Maybe he is bigger but heres the link.

I personally would be all for them dropping a 3rd on Morrison. He's not a great coverage guy or a greater blitzer or anything like that. However, he's probably the best pure sideline to sideline run defender we're going to have access to this offseason- Be it Dansby, Foote, McClain, Spikes, etc. and so on.
