Just got the text from ESPN on my phone. Details to follow.. From Mort's twitter: Unfortunately, Buddy Nix actually knows how to draft. Here's his stats while in San Diego: * 2004 3 Pro Bowlers * 2005 6 Pro Bowlers * 2006 11 Pro Bowlers * 2007 8 Pro Bowlers
How much of that was Nix, how much of it was SD's GM? It's like the great OC whose offense sucks once they are Head Coach. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/12/31/1228292/bills-to-name-buddy-nix-new
I was thinking Scott Linehan. Cam Cameron actually had our scoring up at the beginning before everything fell apart. He's the reason everything fell apart, but still.
That's another good example. But, Ya I like Cam a lot as an OC. What he's doing in Baltimore with Ray Rice is impressive.
Is it just me, or have the Bills drafted solid but just sucked anyway? Seems like they always have a nice crop of players, just haven't hit on a franchise QB or done themselves any favors in Free Agency.
Their skill position players arepretty good imo. Lynch and Fred Jackson aregood enough to get it done at the RB position and Lee Evans is a stud as a wideout. Heck I even like Hardy as the big receiver threat. Owens wasn't needed other than to make a splash in the news really. I am still trying to figure out what they did with their o-line over the past couple of years. It seems that they targeted every player that had a shred of talent in them, and cast them off. Really quite strange. They seem to lack in the Tight End category as well. If they happen to get yet ANOTHER first round QB, they need to try to get themselves a safety valve te. But as a DOlphins fan,I am okay with them continuing to do what they do best...which is come up short.
Look no further than Ralph Wilson's closing statement if you wonder why the Bills can't get it together: lol Wow. Just wow.
I think we are better. Any team that has a bonafide starting quarterback, I think should be considered better than the Bills. But they aren't without talent on that team, on either side of the ball. I think they may have had a string of worse coaches than us, believe it or not and if they are able to land themselves a big fish (Gruden, Cowher, etc.), I think they can finally start to put those pieces together. I am really happy that Holmgren hooked up with the Browns as my fear was that he would show up in Buffalo, get their QB situation fixed up and make me sad for the next 5-10 years.
