Mort: Carl Peterson on the way (Rumor)

From what the rumors said, it's not like he'll be the next GM anyway

 

Why the **** would anybody actually believe a story from Mort? Is he ever right about anything?

 

If we hire Cowher and Peterson I think we'll be successful. I'm not really that big on Peterson but I do think some of the hatred here is totally unjustified, the guy had success and failures, everyone that has been in the NFL for 20+ years has had major failures, bad draft picks, etc, its part of the job. He had a good track record with KC for the most part. Is this a great hire? Who knows, but the doom and gloom reaction is just silly.

 

Peterson must have amazing balance over that 20 year period then

As long as he isn't name GM I think I would be okay, but don't give him GM powers or final say in player personnel matters.

 

Ross said he's had no conversations about joining the team.

 

I lived in KC during his tenure and tho he had some success he really was bad over all. He was a prick extraordinaire. Treated his players and coaches horribly and generally was rather arrogant. The fan base turned on him, think Tuna with a public persona.. Not really looking forward to this at all. Seems he is going to have final say on the new coach after all..

if Peterson is involved forgot a Qb in the draft. Possible Matt Flynn or some other QB in Free agency.

 

I have absolutely no interest in seeing a has been like Carl Peterson holding any position with the Dolphins. He was adequate 15 years ago, but when he left the Chiefs, he left them in worse shape then the Dolphins are in today. If Ross wants to see season tickets sales continue to decline, he certainly is headed in the right direction by keeping Ireland and this talk of bringing in Peterson to run the football side of the operation.

 

Sometimes reading this board makes me want to take a cyanide pill. So much is knee-jerk responses like "Oh noes Peterson/Ireland/Schottenheimer" based on nothing but what they feel or what they heard from Joe Blow.

Jeez people. At least post a reason why other than hive mind.

 

We don't need another guy that is going to build a team like its 1990.We don't need big and slow team that is going to try to play defence and grind out the clock with a running game. The game is changed you need to pass to win. IF THEY DON'T DRAFT A QB I AM DONE.

 

I don't know what's worse...repeated 'kays or " we play to win the game!" Oh krap..I hate being a Fins fan right now. God help us all!!

 

Heard this rumor today too...but it was coupled with another big name (hint:former Chiefs DC)
