Considering Manning is at the Arizona facility now, I would assume he'll travel to Miami today; meet with the Dolphins on Monday... make his decision by Tuesday. Just IMO.
It's really funny, you can predict these reports before they make them. Tomorrow Miami will magically surge to the lead. They don't know anything and the reports are BS. Have a gander at my article on the front page. - sent from my EVO 3D via Tapatalk -
The one thing that really worries me about this is that Mort is exceptionally close to the Manning family. I forget the exact connection but I know the manning family basically treats him like a confidant in relation to their careers. He broke the story about Eli about not wanting to play for San Diego years back.
Bryant and Crowder. We can speculate that Crowder is the spurned ex-girlfriend, if we didnt also have evidence from Bryant. Add to the mix Ryan Clark, Harbaugh, Fisher, Cowher, and Gruden rejections. Who knows what the reasons were for that last group, but the common denominator in all of this is Ireland, Ross, or both.
BINGO! Its simply the media keeping us on the edge of our seats, tuning into their programs and creating hits on their site. News is the same. ever notice the news always makes things seem much worse, or leave cliff hangers? Simple marketing ploy.
Agreed. It seems that wherever PM is that day seems to become the favorite. As stated, tomorrow it will be the Dolphins in the lead with Cards and Broncos trying their best to contact him prior to the final decision... Nobody really has a clue to what PM is thinking or even how he is evaluating perspective suitors. Being a Broncos fan I would love to see him here but in reality, it is still a 3 team race. I think more like Broncos or Dolphins as I don't see him going to a NFC team personally.
I literally haven't read any news on this. I found out about him being in Miami by accidently reading "breaking news" when Sect posted the thread. God knows I dont watch ESPN. Why stress yourself? Sooner or later all this will be over, stressing over this stuff and looking for new reports every 20 mins is silly IMO.
I just got wind of this now and Peyton already said he has his eyes set on Arizona or Denver?? Damn the guy just got there a few hours ago,Mort! Give him a chance to see other teams before you hit the keys...
Too premature. Pujols, anyone? Nobody mentioned the Angels. They also said Fisher was like 80-90% to Miami. we'll see soon, just haveto wait
Miami media was like this scene in Ghostbusters:
If Ross, Ireland, or Philbin lack the gravitas to even get him in the building for an interview, the organization has reached the hopeless stage.
DId you not see the helicopters and media following him to and from the airport in Denver. If thats his excuse i dont want him in Miami anyway. If Mr. Oreo/sony cant handle some media attention then F him.
Somebody is the next Sherlock Holmes...they figured putt the two teams Peyton has meth with are the front runners, would the guy really sign with a team he hasn't met with...rufus us called "duh" reporting...art this point Denver and Arizona are first and second in a two horse race. "Whoopie" People should be fined for stupid reports like this.
Not gonna put an ounce of faith in anything any ESPN reporter says. They are all clearly full of crap all the time. John Clayton, Shefter, and Mortensen are pretty much the three stooges of ESPN.
i find these reports laughable just yesterday it was "manning making it up as he goes" to arz and denv being frontrunners today and reports friday of manning not going to the nfc and that the denv trip was taken only out of respect for elway. This is just espn pulling **** out of their *** throwing at the wall and hope it sticks
If Mort's saying that we are out......then we are definitely still in. Mort's been wrong 9 times out of 10 about Miami ever since Parcells came on board. Not to mention according to local press Miami is in total lockdown and nobody is talking to the media right now.
Some things to consider...they've said he wants to avoid Miami due to the media circus but he's willing to stare down Tebowmania in Denver? Another thing regarding Tebow, both he and Manning have the same agent. Could be a factor. As for Arizona...they are way over the cap, have a Swiss cheese o-line and can only accommodate Manning by releasing Kolb (more dead money) and releasing Levi Brown (one of their better o-linemen). Some say he wants to avoid Brady yet he's willing to face the 49ers D twice per year? Behind that o-line?
Tomorrow the headline will be that Miami really impressed him blah blah blah it's back to three teams. I'm just going to wait this out.
This is reporting by quantity not quality. It's like they feel they have to get their name out there or they'll be forgotten.
When Peyton Manning was in Miami at his home earlier in the week why didn't Stephen Ross and the Dolphins take advantage of that and talk to him, and make him an offer before he even left for Denver and Miami?
I haven't read through these posts, so if I repeat something someone said already, my apologies in advance but... Peyton said he was meeting with Denver, Arizona and Miami. He's met with Denver He's met with Arizona Now he'll meet with Miami This media stalking has gotten stupid over the years. Remember back when? When Dion Sanders was leaning twoards Miami????
I always find it so funny how people here dismiss a report or call the reporters "idiots" or "morons" just because they don't like what the report says. I wonder how many people would say the report is BS or call mort and schefter idiots if they said the choices were between just AZ and Miami. Just because you guys don't like what is being said doesn't make it BS. Although I always wanted Manning here I always thought Arizona made the most sense. Majority of all their games are in a dome. Best receiver in the league. Manning's old QB coach is now in AZ. Whisenhunt and Manning are very close friends. Very winnable division(don't have to play Jets and Pats twice a year). Great weather.
Yeah AZ does make a lot of sense, so does Denver people seem to take offense that players aren't Dolphins fans lol. Manning is going to go to the best situation for winning games and that, to him at least, might not be here.
Not sure if it was mentioned yet but the Titans are in the mix big time. Their owner says he wants him at all costs. EDIT - Via @NFL reports
Good first post, welcome. I think that people aren't upset about what is being said, but rather that it is changing every ten minutes.
Yeah, definitely makes them the wildcard now IMO. Particularly because they play in the same division as the Colts. Ugh...
Despite what people may think I think he sincerely doesnt want to stick it to the Colts . I really think the dude is in love with Indy so I dont see that happening, atleast not to play against the Colts twice.
