    Per Rotoworld:

Should be fun to watch, I know sometimes folks say moves like this come back to haunt the Phins and they are right, they have in the past, however this is a new era and that isn't just blather..

Besides, ex teammates play all out when they face each other after a team switch...

I can't say this is a surprise, I'd hoped we resign Taylor but it's just not in the cards for us, different needs between us and JT.

Because he still wants to play and we are not offering him a contract?

Cool. Now when we play them, he'll get to say hi to Ronnie Brown again. Its been a while since they talked in person, because Jason missed team activities last year to be recognized as twinkle toes worldwide.

I can't blame him if nobody else is going to sign him. Do what you got to do Jason Taylor. He doesn't have much left anyway.

I just hope he's ready to sever all ties to the Miami Dolphins fan base.

As much as I hate the thought of JT in a Pats uniform, I can't blame him. He wants a chance at a ring, and it seems that the only team, out of the few that have a good shot of of getting a ring, that is showing interest in him is the Patriots. I respect his decision to try and get that ring before he retires.

Not much surprise here if it does come true... I won't be a big fan of it, but... the NFL is a business... you gotta do what you gotta do...

That brings up an interesting question CCM, when the Patriots come down to Miami and ("if") JT is with them, and introduced, would you boo or cheer for JT?

I would boo him too, because he is now a patriots. Would I disown his history with the Phins? Nope.

still an all-time phin in my book.

Try to find any fans who hates Thurman Thomas. You won't. Dude contributed more than enough to my favorite team. And wanted to sign here but the FO won't have him. After that, he's free to sign with anyone in my eyes.

True, but think of it this way:

JT probably had more than one suitor including the Patriots.

Patriots may have been the only on that list that stands a good chance of netting him the Super Bowl ring.

Look, I hate the thought of JT becoming a Patriot as much as anyone. But at the same time, players in the NFL would give both of their balls for a Super Bowl ring, and if Patriots were the only feasible option, then I can't blame him.

Can you imagine Marino signing with the Pats/Jets/Bills for a chance at a Super Bowl towards the end of his career? No way. Jason Taylor is a turncoat if he signs with them. Some things are more important. Zach Thomas had the right attitude. If he signs with them, I don't think he deserves to go in the Dolphins Hall of Fame, or Circle thing, whatever they call it.

I would probably be better with it if they were the only suitor. I would understand if he has no other options and wants to just continue playing football. I understand your reasoning about the Superbowl ring, but to me, winning a ring wouldn't feel as good if you got it by jumping on a team for year just to get the ring. I understand it, but I guess I'm just have that old school way of thinking like it was before FA.

I think a bit of it comes from my Pop Warner and High School days. The other team was the ENEMY! When we were really little we used to throw our own pep rallies and we'd burn dummies of the opposing teams. :D Those were fun days. :D

I hear ya' bro. I'm just having fun with this whole JT thing. I've said a million times that I loved JT when he was a Phin and I'll always keep him in high regards for those days. I used to love watching him smash T. Brady many a time. :D

A REALLY dumb move for Jason if true. Half his support base is already gone and he'll lose another half if he plays in NE.

He'll also get bullied by Jake Long.

You have to remember that it's their work though. I know it's tough, I don't like it either but when the team he wants [the fins obviously] are sticking their noses up at him he's got to do something to put food on the table. Maybe the Pats are making him the best offer. Or maybe he wants to make Parcells and Co. regret not taking him back. Can't say I'd blame him.

You know, we're all fans here, of course JT to the Pats would not be pretty.

"But", if the Pats have a better passrush, our competition in the AFC East, the Bills and Jets, who don't have our offensive line, will then have to deal with him as well.

Our Oline is even better this season, the Bills line has degraded, and the Jets have questions as well.

    :shifty:
