You all may remember me talking about my wife being in a car accident back in April (she was ok thank god). Well we just got our settlement check from the lawyers today, and let me just say, it's enough to get us home to Florida. South Florida is still too expensive. We are going to be moving to Orlando. We have narrowed our search (depending on jobs) to Dr Phillips, Hunters Creek, Clermont, and Winter Garden/Windermere areas. I have been researching/studying the **** out of these areas, and they are what we are most comfortable with. Well I know there are a lot of dolfans in the surrounding Orlando area, considering I will be moving from 3 states away in a couple of months, I could use the most advice/help/tips I can get. So please if you know a doctor hiring a medical asst, please let me know. My wife has experience in Family practice and Dermatology/Plastic surgery. And if you know anyone renting a home/condo/townhouse in a nice area, for a good price, please PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Ill buy you a beer when I get there
I have a buddy living in Orlando who ended up leasing a house in Wedgefield. Not sure what normal prices are, but they pay $1000 a month plus utilities. They are in a gated/equestrian community. The house is 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with a garage. Not sure if you guys are looking to lease or buy, but you may want to look into living there.
Awesome man! Good for you. I know you've been thinking bout it for a while, going back to your ORIGINAL radio shows. Orlando is definitely a good place to live, too. Your wife propably would of had an easier time finding a job in the plastic surgery down here for obvious reasons, but Orlando is close enough to get it's share of Snow Birds mixed in with the college kids. I have couple of friends who live in Orlando, ill text them see if they know anything bout job openings and/or housing.
thanks bro, good thing for your avatar or I wouldn't have known who the F you were haha. And I didn't mention in the first post, but ill be transferring, I work for suntrust bank, have been with them 4 years. So thats no issue for me. They are all over o-town.
...well people of Orlando... Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, hide yo kids, hide yo wife, hide yo kids, hide yo wife, an' hide yo husb...
Winter Garden is nice, I gotta buddy who lives there. Im moving east of Orlando by Satellite Beach. We'll definately chill finally.
Glad to hear you get to come back dude. Though if you moved to the Ft. Myers area the Dolphins are considered the home team and you wouldn't need Sunday ticket. Because, you know, you have to base life decisions accordingly.
Good thing is we are getting the ticket for free right now, next year, I am hoping to be actually going to dolphins games with some affordable season tickets and split gas with my bud who already lives in Orlando. But we shall see. I already promised my kid that I'd take him to a Marlins game in the new stadium next year, so I gotta start saving for that
Jerk, I thought you said last night you were moving up here.... with me....... Seriously though congrats Chris, I know how much you have been trying to get back there....
Ya Ill move to the north east when my **** turns purple and tastes like rainbow sherbert. Thanks bro, I can't wait to be back in my home state, my step daughter will move back with us, and I know that will make my wife so much happier. And if your married you know, happy wife, happy life.
I'll tell you the same thing I told hardkore, if you get a house, with an extra room for me to stay when i'm on vacation, and you put a baby in it, then you are totally off my facebook.
sorry messed that up this is what i meant to say heh: but yeah if I go to florida we gotta hang. Pizza and beer ftw! Just don't invite that finsane guy, he pisses me off........... he can't read this right?
Check out the Oviedo/Winter Springs area. UCF Health Center is currently looking for a CMA. Have her look at this website: jobswithucf.com Great schools in Seminole county.
Wedgefield is nowhere near Orlando. Winter Garden is nice as long as you are the south side of Hwy 50, near the Stoneybrook area I prefer seminole county to Orange, especially school district wise.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but we want to be close enough to the theme parks so it's not a long drive to utilize our season passes. Also, I will have unlimited access to Disney's oak trail 9 hole walking course, so I don't want to live too far, if I did that would give the wife ammunition when complaining about me golfing all the time.........can't have that!!!
Sounds like I need to teach you the local secrets to enjoying a Disney season pass. How are you gonna get access to Oak trail, and what about the other courses? I might have to take up golf again if you can get me the cast member rate ($25 afternoon). I used to play alot out there
When you purchase a Disney perferred pass (water parks, disney quest, all the parks) you get unlimited access to the oak trail course and wide world of sports. Its a sick deal, and being a Florida resident you make payments!
Oh I thought you had a season pass which is different. Guess I don't have to show you how to park for free then
I know I'm late on this, just wanted to say it'll be cool to have another Phin fan over here. Out of your choices, I'd also say Hunter's Creek would be your best bet. It's pretty close to the parks, in fact all you have to do is go down Osceola Parkway (which is a nice drive btw) and you'll be there in about 15 minutes. Clermont is also very quiet and nice, only problem is it's a bit out of the way. It's about 30 miles away from Disney...but still it's an easy drive. Keep us updated
Thanks bro, my wife sent out about 22 resumes to random Dermatology and family practice offices around Orlando today. Cross your fingers we hear back soon. Depending on her job, that will be where we move. I will most likely be working in downtown at the main Suntrust building. So we may move to hunters creek or williamsburg and hope she can get a job close. As long as one of us is close, it will save gas, and help us big time, because our insurance will bump up in price in Florida. However, we wont be getting state taxes taken out of our pay checks, so we may end up saving money. We shall see.
Also, for Orlando residents, what is the electricity provder in Orlando? Is it FPL? Or are there multiple ones to choose from?
