I don't know how you cut Sparanos legs off from under him..humiliate him...yank any ounce of credibilty he had left...and then expect him to lead this team. My brain hurts from even trying to figure this one out
Sorry if it sounded like I was trashing B Marsh. I love B Marsh. He's by far my favorite player in the NFL. I guess I was mislead by a post on another site claiming that Marshall, Hartline, and Ricky trashed Sparano. Well, I know Ricky did.
If they're (talking FAs) worth it, we'll pretty much compete with anyone on $. Miami (FL in general) is arguably as good an area to live as anywhere in the country (no state income tax too). Chance for any player to prove they are worthy of starting, plus the opportunity to play with players like Long, Dansby, Marshall, and Wake. Coordinator isn't a big issue IMO (but bigger than FAs), especially if you're looking at guys who want to be HCs soon, or position coaches (who are bright) and would love to be a coordinator.
As much as I hate the Jets/Patriots(by default), they just seem to do what is right in terms of football.
This season has just been one disappointment after another, can't see much changing unless the offensive philosophy of this team is completely different next year.
Now Ireland and Sparano will go into "save our own asses mode" ala WannSpiel and ask Ross if they can trade some picks from the 2012 draft. Just watch..... Dark day for this franchise......
Anyone else hope Mike Nolan gets a HC job? Seriously, our only hope is to tank next season. It will land us Andrew Luck, and get Tony Sparano fired for certain.
ross brought it on himself. he could alleviate that by offering an extension which would be the classy thing to do
Players complained about the same things we did, only being on the field BM and Hartline basically said the Offense was to rigid and RW said what he said, BM was right, Williams had an agenda.
I have to admit, it is, kind of, funny... the constant changing of the teams and such. I have chuckled a few times.
I'm not saying they won't trade future picks (i do find it doubtful though), but I don't think they'll operate in a "save our asses mode." Sparano especially doesn't seem like that kind of guy.
Jets won't sign Ricky, they already have RBs. If one of them goes anywhere in the division its New England, the team most likely to win a Super Bowl. Seattle or New Orleans could be possible, but NOLA likes Chris Ivory it seems. Imagine Ricky with the Saints again haha. If that happened I would probably watch more Saints game than Dolphins games if the Fins are as boring and bad as they were in 2010.
I'm sorry, I must have missed this... I am not disputing what you are saying here, I would just like some clarification with a link or something. I honestly would like to read what you read to come to your conclusion. Edit: Sorry, I was meaning links, quotes, etc about the Williams agenda.
Directv wont be getting my cash next yr...its too expensive to watch this BS regime put their heads in their asses for 18 games. They cant figure out how to gameplan, they cant figure out when to call timeouts, they dont adjust in game well and they cant figure out how to win in december.
Poor Sparano... For 4 tedious days his 3 million dollar buyout may have been utilized. Let me go play a violin for him, I'm going to wrap my head around how he hasn't commited suicide yet. What a disgrace of a franchise we are, we actually did our due diligence for 4 days and forced all the armchair owners, armchair psychologist and armchair coaches to hit refresh every 20 seconds on their browsers to get this life changing info.
+ avy/sig change = SoFlo is finally going to turn into a full blown basketball city. Pat Riley just won again.
Just wrote that...That way Sparano could be fired midway through next season and Harbaugh/Luck could take over.
It's not as terrible as it seems. How many college coaches have come to the pros and failed? If Harbaugh wanted to gut the team in the process we would be starting from scratch with a college coach trying to build a pro team... Think Saban all over again. I'd rather have Cowher but without getting a proven HC I think were better off with Sparano being a puppet for another year, as long as we get a decent OC this team is really not as far off as it seems. We do have alot of good players on offense that were just hampered by Henning all season long. It's obvious at this point that Sparano has no control and Ireland is running the show. Give it another year with a new OC see how close we are and if we are still terrible then bring in a HC and let them gut the place but it just seems way to premature to be going down that road already.
Although I hate the idea of Miami earning the 1st pick in the draft in 2012, sure seems like it would be a long-term solution. Sparano and Henne sure aren't.
thats true nationally. all of this has been tracked in detail only internally. even serious NFL fans have casual interest in this. but WE will remember it for a very long time. this is a blow to the fanbase, not because of the result, but because of the process
I agree, we're an attractive venue for FAs, but without an OC and an offensive system, how do you know which FA or draftees to target? Also, are we going to attract guys looking to win, or guys looking for the highest bidder? Not saying it can't be done, but we're in a bad spot.
all i know is i will see a couple of games next season and i will bring a zippo lighter in case i see any paper bags lol
I don't think Sparano is a ****ty leader. I really don't. I don't think we are going to fall flat on our face in 2011. I think what Ross did was questionable, but I am not going to judge him on something I know nothing about in reality. And as far as ****ty fans go... You can be pissed off, I don't care about that... But switching ships? Come on...
Your offensive system should be tailored as much to your players as your players are tailored to a system (versatility is good). We obviously have an idea of what we look for in players. I don't see why that would be much different based on the OC. We need talent, we need speed, we need playmakers. None of that changes based on our offensive system. I think you're overthinking it personally. But we've got plenty of time, so I'll worry in 3 months if it isn't resolved.
I betcha half the fans that are wishing this franchise failure are the same bandwagon guys that tell me to sit down while they sip on their mojitos when we are about to score. Good riddance.
Thanks. Where'd my post go?! WTF. BicketyBam can be a Jets fan but I cant become a Pats fan? Besides, I've always thought this forum could use more NE posters.
