there is no way I trust on dallas thomas to step up or tyson clabo to bounce back, this unit has to be rebuild completely, 4 new starters need to come in

Maybe new OC hopefully but croyle ain't going anywhere. Also guard needs to be addressed. My choice would be wade smith or Alex Mack at center and move pouncey over

 

I don't think much if any of the coaching staff is going anywhere. It's difficult for an OC to do his job when the line cannot protect the QB or open holes for the running backs. As well, it's difficult for the DC to do his job when the offense is going 3 and out everytime.

What is risking to derail the season is the fact our talent along the offensive line is so inferior. We still might make the playoff and/or even win a game but the moment we run into a physical front 7, we'll be toast. We just cannot matchup physically or athletically.

 

19 mil under and we save another 9 mil by cutting Patterson and Moore whose money goes to grimes. Leaves us with around 20 mil.say we resign Clemons at 4 mil a year and carrol for cheap. I say we let both Starks and soliai walk unless we can resign for under 5 a year but I doubt that. Leaves us with around 14 million which would allow us to sign a good LT and center/guard. Also would like Jerry back at a cheap price.

Dream scenario:

New GM: Tom Gamble or Marc Ross.

Head Coach: New GM decides Philbin's fate, which means he's probably gone. So Jim Tomsula would make a ton of sense here, especially if Gamble replaces Ireland.

(only coaches I'd keep are our DL and secondary coaches. everyone else gets fired.)

Defensive Coordinator: I'd love to pry Vic Fangio away from the 49ers, or Dan Quinn from Seattle.

Offensive Coordinator: Tom Clements from Green Bay (gives him an opportunity to call plays) OR Steelers QB coach Randy Fichtner

 

.i remember meeting Tomsula back in 2006 with 13 years i was already on a international player list for the Nfl europe..so i was seeing Tomsula in the locker room before the game with nfl scout larry dixon he was really nice to me and quoted: Danny if u continue to work u could be one of the best fullbacks in the nfl europe in a hurry...i was out of words really nice guy went even to dinner with me and another player of my team,played both 2011 in the national Team maybe i should write him via email ...But i dont think he could coach a nfl Team as Headcoach he would be a First time hc in the Nfl..Merry Christmas Dolfans

 

Our offense is worse. The defense is solid.

I agree that the defense will take some serious consideration, but not because it is bad, but because of the expiring contracts. The phins could chose to not extend one of the DTs spending the first round pick on Offense. Especially considering that 2nd round looks deep with DTs.

 

Its funny how a bad Oline can make the entire team look bad isn't it? We are having a lot of issues stopping the run so we do have some serious issues on defense but we do tend to keep the games tight, I think our defense is good enough to take this team very far. Our defense is frustrating though, we give up too many yards rushing.

That said, if our Oline is even just a solid Oline and our Rbs solid we are possibly fighting for the division instead of hoping a bunch of teams lose in the last week.

 

With the holes you're filling there, we're a Super Bowl contender this year.

 

As well shown by the game by which we were all embarrassed, those who played and those who watched who were expecting a Dolphins win!

 

I will be so disappointed if Ireland and/or Philbin are in control of the Miami Dolphins next year. It won't matter who we bring in if this coaching staff remains in place. They don't know how to use the talent they're given, Philbin included.
