Mike Sherman is hired and suddenly it's Jeff Ireland coming to Gil Brandt and saying "Boy I hope you didn't call anyone else."

Oh, and Gil Brandt just happened to also reveal Jeff Ireland as an abject liar in that interview. No biggie.

How is this not a positive for Ireland? He gathered information and formed an opinion based on that information. Thats his job. Whomever's opinion he sought isn't relevant.

In reply, people who support Jeff Ireland often point out that Jeff Ireland liked Ryan Tannehill totally independently of Philbin/Sherman. And later on Jeff called me and said boy I hope you didn’t call anybody else and I said no the only guy I called was you because I knew you were looking for a QB.

Then some time later according to Brandt (PRIOR TO THE DRAFT), Jeff Ireland tells Gil Brandt, "Boy I hope you didn’t call anybody else" which pretty clearly implies that Jeff Ireland's opinion of Ryan Tannehill has now changed for the better.

OK, let's entertain this theory of yours. HE LIED to Gil Brandt over the phone then, didn't want to tip his hand. Am I correct in assuming that is what you are implying?

Then I have one question for you.

Why did he reveal to Gil Brandt later on, still before the Draft, how much he liked Ryan Tannehill? If he's so interested in keeping it a secret from Gil what he really thinks of Ryan Tannehill, why when he talked to Gil later did he say to him, "Boy I hope you didn't call anyone else"?
