has a staff infection in his leg. Please remember him in your prayers.
It started with a bad scrape on his shin. They think it got infected from his turn out gear at the fire station.
The Drs. have him on heavy duty biotics, but it still looks terrible.
Thanks every one.

Mucho prayer of course heading your way Miss Deb.
In this case, I imagine your son is correct and will be okey-dokey, but I understand how tough it is being on the parent end of thingsdolphindebby likes this. -
Antibiotics will knock it out faster than my work socks will kill a kitten. Thoughts and prayers, Debbie.

My darling Deb. How could I not pray for you and your son, after all the prayers you've sent up for us? Many, many prayers coming yours and your sons way. BTW - off topic, but Megs is coming home. I have a picture her grandma sent of her happy and all dressed up after she heard the news. I'll post it in a little while. Shelly will be in Florida for a little while longer, but she'll be home soon.

Staph infections are terrible, thankfully it was caught and your son is now receiving treatment. He'll be fine in no time  I wish him a quick, speedy recovery.

You bet Deb, you have my thoughts, prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery. :)
One question, does he also run EMT on the ambulance or is his station different? I have a brother in law and nephew who both picked up staph infections from their work as EMT's, which is associated with their volunteer FD. -
He's a fire fighter/paramedic. He hasn't rode the ambulance in a long time. There's one at the station, but rarely used and then only for transport.
He and the Dr. think it probably came from some chemical or debris in his turn out gear. He had injured his shin pretty bad last week, he was moving a freezer and it fell on his shin. Then when he went to work during training he hurt it again and the staff set in. Their not concerned at all about the wound part. But his leg is ugly looking and swollen.like2god likes this. -
You got it Debby. As someone who'll be taking EMT classes late June, it's definitely scary stuff to hear.

Is Jeff short for Jeffrey and is Debby short for Deborah?
I don't want to assume because sometimes they aren't. -

Thank you. -
His leg is better. He's taking enough meds to kill any germs in his body.
But the swelling has gone down, it's not as red. Still sore, but he said that was better to.
Thanks for all your prayers. He goes back to the Dr. Thursday.njfinfan likes this. -
Thanks Deb. We're thrilled she's home. I'm very happy that your son is feeling at least a little better.

It was nasty and is still healing. The redness, and swelling is down etc. the wound is going to take forever to heal because it's on his shin and fairly deep, but all looks good at this point.
He goes back on duty Sunday morning.cnc66, PMZQ, adamprez2003 and 1 other person like this. -

It was brought to my attention that I had not up dated this about my son.
Thank you for all your prayers. He is fine. It took a long time to heal and has left a ugly scar, but all is fine. The scar is nothing compared to what might have happened without all your thoughts and prays.
I am so sorry I was so neglectful in letting all of you know.
Thanks again and God bless all of you.BigDogsHunt, Ohiophinphan, Miamian and 1 other person like this. -
