Will they fire the referees who keep falling for it?

There are a bunch of teams/players that flop. Fining them is one thing, I'd rather them just give the player a Technical foul for it. That way, do it twice in one game and you are out. Heck there were quite a few plays last night I saw Boston doing a bit of acting. However, if the Refs keep making the call a foul... I'd do it to.

I think the reason they're issuing fines is because they want to be able to review the play to see if it was a flop, and not a legitimate foul. It's a hard call to make on the spot if a guy is flopping, and I think they want to address the situation without necessarily taking a chance that the refs will influence the balance of the game. If it doesn't alleviate the flopping problem, my guess is the next step will be to start issuing technicals to guys who flop.

That is probably why... I just do not think it will matter. Unless the fines are HUGE. I mean in all of Pro Sports, they always say "this comes with a fine of x". Well those fines are SO out dated. Back when no player was making a $1 Mil +, then fine. Now a 20K fine is NOTHING to someone making $1 Mil. Nothing. The only way to make fines work is if they are big. Something like 10% of your check. Something like that. I know the player's association will have a fit with that much, though. SO ... my idea was do Tech fouls. That way if someone keeps doing it, they are out of the game and then the team mates of the player will start telling them to stop that crap.

My God Muck that would be a freaking miracle. Thats the main reason I refuse to watch any soccer at all unless the US National team is playing. They try to give a yellow for flopping at times, but it still happens wayyyy too much.

Is this the list of CONSISTENT floppers? Or just the ones that do it sometimes? If it is the latter, you can list almost EVERY player in the NBA.

Heck, Ben Wallace used to do it a lot with Shaq. Just about every player that is from a Soccer Nation, Noconi... etc..

    More floppers:

Jason Collins (The only 7 foot 300 pound man ever to flop on a 6 foot 170 pound PG)
Shane Battier (King of the floppers, made it an art form)
Raja Bell (he flops after he smacks you across the head)
Jason Terry (He has the best, "I got shot" reaction)
Sam Cassell (my favorite..he jumps out of the way like he got shot and then complains to the refs)

James Posey is GREAT at taking charges. He also flops some times..but nobody as good as Posey at taking charges belongs on this dishonorable list.

Divac aka Bear is my boy . Only guy I have ever seen who tripped over his own foot on a fast break and then complained to the refs.

I'm not saying Lebron doesn't flop, but he takes a lot more w/o flopping than a lot of the guys you listed. With some of what he takes w/o even having it stop him from getting to the hoop would legitimately knock some other players down.

Well I admit he takes alot of contact but when he takes contact he puts a spin on and makes it look worst than it was. I know its about getting to the foul line but some of the things he did wasn't even necssary. There was one instance against the C's where the ball was about to go out of bounds and he got to the ball turned around and posey was there and Lebron made it seem like Posey ran into drawing the foul. Situations like that are pretty lame.
