We've got some good analysis on the coaching staff but don't forget that we lost Delmas, Jordan (never got much playing time and was a screwup), Odrick, didn't improve the LB unit, Wake has regressed (combo of age/injury maybe), Vernon has regressed (didn't he just get paid?), so yeah... But Coyle definitely has to go too. Plus our offense can't stay on the field, mostly because of the OL and the inability to run. What a cluster**** we've got on our hands...

Edit: I already said a while ago Suh wasn't worth the contract he ended up getting. I would've kept Davis/Smith, Grimes and Odrick for that price.

They could have signed Pot Roast too, and cut Mitchell. They both have about the same cap hit this year. Of course that is with the assumption he'd have wanted to sign with Miami. With what we have now. I'd rather see Suh moved over to RDT and Mosley starting at LDT next to him. Detroit's run D last season was at it's best when they were the starting DTs.

2 technique means head up on the guard. 3 tech means lined up across from the guard-tackle gap. 1 tech means across from center-guard gap. 0 tech is head up on the center. 4 tech is head up on the OT, etc.
Playing 2 gap means wherever he lines up he is in a read react mode and responsible for covering 2 gaps or holes in the offensive line. 1 gap means he is only responsible for covering one gap in the line and can more or less attack up field on the snap.

Should of tried to get Revis instead and maybe selected a guy like LB S.Anthony from NO and a DT on the cheap but we probably would have used Revis completely wrong with our horrid DC.

Closer to the Miami situation than any one of us would like.

    Substitute:
    Miami for Washington, and
"Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace and (maybe) Suh" for "Dana Stubblefield, Dion Sanders, and Albert Haynesworth"
and the situations don't look massively different.
