Thus the romance. My wife heard that story and said that I wasn't romantic enough to do that. I asked her if she was comparing herself to a hooker and the convo came screeching to a halt.

I had a friend that was very interested in Paul Gauguin. She had an out of print book that was unknown to the library of Congress that had some interesting takes on Gauguin and Van Gogh. It said that van Gogh had a homosexual love for Gauguin and that when he was accosted by the drunk van Gogh for said homosexual love that Gauguin did indeed beat him up, and the ear was lost in the fight.
