Nice stuff Mike. I am not a money gambler at all, but I really appreciate that you would share your thoughts with our members, who DO bet.

3/4 road picks for your NFL... interesting. I've given up my gambling several years back but I still do like to follow trends and patterns. I always found the first 4 weeks of the NFL season were by far and away my best and most profitable. I think a serious fan and researcher can compete with the pros on their most even or even advantagous footing for the first couple of weeks. After that, I've always found it tougher going. The books seem to have their numbers down afterwards.

I can't login, do I have to register as if its a new site? I clicked on the contest link back but that wouldn't allow me to login either? :confused2:

Thanks for the weekly column. My best bet of the week is the Giants -3 1/2 to 4 over the Skins :) Seriously, that was really my best bet.

I've done pretty well the past few years and I bet different on three out of four.
Jax D looks not like they should.
The rams are terrible.
Indy wins close, therefore not catching the spread.
I also took the chiefs as the spread at 16.5 seems a little large. I'm also a sucker and took the phins +3 because I bleed dolphins colors.
The tampa and buffalo games were hard to call. -
nice job and thanks for the effort. not crazy about the Jags, Eagles or Colts games, nor either college game.
Rivalry yes, but the U is not that same ole U. I'm scared of that twenty-something spread. Just not in love with the Ole Miss game either, being a bottom feeder in the SEC is like hooking up with a bottom feeder at the playboy mansion, you're still a winner.
Week 1 in the NFL is brutal to call. The Iggles at home can generate from that drunken mess of a crowd enought to swing an extra 3+ point advantage. Solid O, solid D, solid coaching. I see the Eagles leaving Niles Crane dumbfounded in this start to what should be his last season as Rams head coach. Doofus should've stayed in Miami, Satan would probably still be here.
And I just don't see the Colts running rampant over the Bears in this first game. I'm not sure how Peyton will play after his first serious injury and no pre-season action. I am not saying you're wrong on this one, because the Colts D could outscore the Bears O, 21-0...but the if's do scare me.
And the equalizer in the Jags game is thier O(which doesn't impress) vs the Titan D, which is pretty damn stout. I see the Jags winning by 3, and everybody losing on this one.
LOVE THE LIONS. We'll see though, I can see why you chose the games you did. Hope you don't mind the discussion/dissection/disagreement. -

Rough end of the college day in what I call a classless move from Urban Meyer trying to score any way he can in the closing seconds in a game that was long decided.
One of those games you feel you capped right but couldnt overcome the bad breaks...
Thats betting for ya, I look to go atleast 3-1 in the NFL...we'll see
