Interesting.
Considering how much say the players have had, my guess was this was ok'd with our top guys.

Darlington said the players respect him, so that's a step in the right direction.

Is there a press conference for him?

I'm not optimistic. This man was mentored throughout most of his career by Kevin Coyle. He and Coyle were very close. He also had a longstanding history with Philbin, having worked with him previously on the Collegiate level. It's sad that Philbin assembled a staff with such a lack of talent. I hope I'm wrong, but just because the players respect him, doesn't mean that he is going to put a great game plan together, or be able to call plays. I'm happy Coyle is gone, but would have preferred someone other that what we got...but I'll take it.

Yeah, people like to pretend they know what they're saying. Truth is, most people on the outside don't know much of anything (myself included) regarding the types of schemes that they run and whatnot, they're just taking wild guesses. HahaDolphinzdawgg likes this.

Anarumo on 2 gap vs. 1 gap: We don't play 2 gap here, we haven't played 2 gap here since I got here. We're an aggressive attacking front
-
What??? Just watch the games. Pay attention to how our defense lines up and what players are playing certain roles and filling certain gaps.
-
Anarumo on Suh: We're going to look at all avenues when it comes to all of our players especially w/Suh as great, dominant player he's been

Anarumo on whether scheme changes or just getting more of players: Combination of both. We're looking in to everything we're doing

Any sources for this? They'd never worked together before. Anarumo was a grad assistant and an assistant to the DB's coach in Syracuse. He went to Harvard where he met and worked with Philbin for two years, who ultimately was the one who hired him. -
louuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, who cares at this point..ill i care about is them playing like crazed dogs and will they swarm to ball...football is not complicated, just be heads up on misdirection, and play the game, if you aint good enough aint no scheme gonna save you.
Tin Indian, firedan and Piston Honda like this. -
They weren't playing two gap to begin.

Sooo true. It's not hard to tell who's pretending tho.
