One whose OC hadn't adjusted the game plan to a quick passing game yet. Also I think Davis' injury later helped free up Welker a bit more. Early on we had Smith on him more often then after the Davis injury we used Burnett in coverage on the slot more.

Will see what the final order has, but if STL trades down to #7, and sits right before us....they could take Floyd. I dont agree with this mock with them trading down and missing out on Blackmon, but I guess anything is possible. Floyd, Wright, & Jeffery all right there, but they are a far cry from Blackmon! Not sure I like this MOCK even for us.
I expect that by the time the draft rolls around we'll be talking about Tannehill and Weedon as first rounders and that Tannehill may be in the mix for a top 10 pick.
Yeah, and I keep thinking how UGLY this REAL draft could become if RG3 and L. Jones both return to college.
With how bad baylor's defense is, the fact that their gonna lose an elite football player on offense in the name of Kendall Wright, theres no way anyone can convince RG that if he comes back Baylor could win the national championship... All that tell me that if RG is smart and his heart is in this game longterm than He will go pro...My guy tells me from last nite that he will...
I'm not saying that thats a bad decision, but I think the fan base would mutiny and Ireland would get strung up if he took another offensive lineman in the first.
Time to send that evil scientist down to mind-bleep these guys and see who can withstand the most gob-sheit... Jerry looks like he'll be serviceable at RT next year. So maybe no OL pick this year. The Jets recent failure at trading up for Sanchez makes me skittish about trading up for RG III. Todd Bowles looks like the African policeman in Ace Ventura II...The one that got crushed by an elephant...
This is nonsense. The jets traded up for Revis and were successful. So does that mean trade up's for CBs are okay but trade up's for QBs are not? And who cares what the jets do?
Floyd, Upshaw, and DeCastro (not in any order) would be my 3 favorites if that's how the top 7 went. Wright or Martin wouldn't upset me too much though, neither would Kirkpatrick. Honestly I love Alshon Jeffrey most, but the couple things I've heard about his dedication and work ethic while at SC have me a little scared.
Potentially repeating their mistake would sting, but who knows, I could be selling Sanchez short. Ultimately I think it would come down to how much you would have to give up.
Part of it is because Floyd has some off field baggage and not sure I'd want to risk a top 10 pick on him. Doesn't he have multiple DUIs? If you're gonna go WR at that point, then I'd consider Wright or Jeffrey, or we could get Wake a pass rush partner like Upshaw. Can you imagine how much more effective Wake could be with Upshaw opposite him? Also, IMO, Ireland or whomever is GM cannot let a few vocal fans effect how he drafts, or else they are not worthy of having the job. Anyway, 3/4s of fans fancy themselves an armchair GM, and the real GM needs to ignore those folks. Let them mutiny in other words.
So will anyone be glancing at the scores of the Redskins and Browns game? I may try not to pay any attention, except at halftime. Assuming they will both lose which means a win wont change our position (and assuming the Jets have a much better chance at making the playoffs than really possible) makes the game way more exciting to watch.
At this point I don't really care where we draft. This team blew its chance to fix the QB problem in this draft a long time ago.
Pretty much. And if Cleveland really wants RG3, they have 2 1sts and 2 3rds to play with as far as moving up goes. Which means we're probably taking a linemen in the first round.....again.
Even if Barkley declared, winning 5 games meant the Dolphins probably would've missed out on him too. I think our best bet now is to sign Matt Flynn as a FA and draft an offensive playmaker in the 1st round. But I seem to be the only one on the Matt Flynn bandwagon at the moment.
I've been riding the bandwagon and pushing for him since the preseason. I think the kid can surprise a lot of people if given a chance and the best part is now we can just sign him without losing a pick. Let him and Moore and hopefully Weeden in the 2nd all compete for the starting spot.
Havent you people learned your lesson with ****ty backup QBs? Matt Flynn has proven nothing as a Pro.
If our winning knocks the Jets out then I'll root on that outcome. It'll be like the Orioles KOing the Sox in the bottom of the 9th in the 162 game of the season (pure joy). If our winning does not accomplish that then I'll root on every other team to win so we can move up a spot or three.
Exactly. Anyone else remember when Matt Cassel and Kevin Kolb were hot commodities? Both turned out to be average QBs, if that.
HEy people, this doesn't have to do with draft, but if Chiefs win and Chargers lose, Dolphins will play the Chiefs instead next season. Chargers would lose tiebreaker and finish last. Chargers can be dangerous next year with a new coach.
I'm not saying im on the flynn train atm but throwing 6 tds in 1 game in the nfl is special and moore is what a nfl backup should be he can win games vs bad teams.
Ok, with KC win, no worse than #10 overall in any round. 3 teams tied with 6 wins...MIA, CAR, BUF. and I think based on SOS% we will pick #9 in round 1, #8 (#40 in round 2); and then #10 in round 3, and rotate like that.....
Based on SoS% I think it will be CAR (8); MIA (9); BUF (10) the SOS % spread between CAR and MIA is oh so close too, darn. Could come down to AZ beating SEA.....root for AZ just in case. We actually might sneak into #8 if AZ beats SEA based on SoS%...its so close. since tonights NYG vs. DAL gives us .500 regardless of who wins.....it will be interesting.
If Arizona wins, the SOS % will be identical I believe... however we would lose the next tiebreaker (division record) with a 3-3 division record compared to Carolina's 2-4 division record. My numbers are Carolina .503, Miami .503, and Buffalo .519.
Would it? That'd be sweet. I knew the tiebreakers go SoS, Division Record, Conference Record, Coin-Flip... but wasn't sure if it mattered whether we are in the same conference/division or not.
