In an attempt to upgrade a poor run defense, the Bills have added DT Colin Cole. Cole, a 4 year pro, was obtained from the Seattle Seahawks. DC Jim Mora, Jr. believes if the Bills can shore up their run defense combined with a pass defense that was 2nd in the league in INT's and 2nd in the league in pass defense, they can begin their climb in the AFC East.
On the offensive side of the ball, Buffalo has decided to add speed and youth in swapping out Lee Evans and adding Donnie Avery. Avery, acquired from the Rams, was the 1st WR drafted in the '08 draft. Along with Avery the Bills acquired veteran QB Marc Bulger. Early indications are the Bills will be selecting a QB for the veteran to groom.
Buffalo is anticipating adding a few starters and depth through the draft. The Bills currently have nine picks, including four of the top 73. Adding a #1 WR and bolstering the offensive line is the current focus for the team through trades and/or free agency.
GM's dukane5 and silverphin continue to review the roster and believe they will enter the FA period $13-15 million under the salary cap.
