I know wikipedia is not reliable but take it for whats it worth also what i found interesting is http://www.brooklynknights.com/ could be a teaser for the new logo! who knows,
I heard about this too. Not sure if it is true though, it was just a proposal by Jay Z according to that.
and thats why everyone thinks LBJ wont re-sign with cleveland because he can go there to sign with his main homie Jay-Z and he'll play in a HUGE market and make more $$$ with nike..
I agree. I think Jay-Z and co. will do everything they can to get him there. Rashard Lewis got 125 million this past year to come to Orlando, can you imagine how much cash the Nets or god knows what they will be called, will splash on him? I am thinking 175 million, Kobe and KG like-numbers.
You guys obviously mis interpret the importance of Lebron to the Cavs. Money is not an issue. He is the franchise. Plus he's from Akron, he's building a mansion there......he's not going anywhere.
The only way they can truly do that is by taking a pay cut, and thats not happening. Its more about the money man.
yeah its about the money. and he is going to get more going to NY...nike is gonna give him a fat check and i bet it makes up for the little bit that cleveland could've paid him more than ny
So using that train of thought you expect Oden and Roy to leave Portland correct? He is the face of Cleveland sports PERIOD. He moves to a bigger market he has to share the limelight. Yanks, Mets, Knicks, on and on.......He makes ALOT of money already with Nike by being the sole bread winner in Cleveland.
no...neither of them signed an 100 dollar deal....yeah they will get more money if they leave..but not more than if they just stayed...lebron is gonna get a huge check from nike if he goes to ny money from nets and nike>>>cleveland
James is already overhyped and overmarketed. Putting him in New York means we'll never hear the end of him. Ugh. Go away already.
Nets to Brooklyn looking bleaker every day http://www.nj.com/columns/ledger/po...umns-0/1209703057224830.xml&coll=1&thispage=1 I said since Day 1 this was never going to happen and it doesn't look like it will. Plus there are rumblings that the Devils ownership led by Jeffrey Vanderbeek is looking to put an offer to buy the Nets and move them into Newark. Here's more to the story: http://www.nj.com/nets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1209702967224830.xml&coll=1
Well, I'm utterly indifferent as to whether the Nets move to Brooklyn or stay in the Swamp, but I'm happy for that neighborhood in Brooklyn. The Nets' new owners wanted their new arena in that particular Brooklyn neighborhood, and didn't give a damn about who was there, so they talked the City into using their powers of eminent domain to condemn the houses and businesses that were already there. The residents, thankfully, are fighting back, and even though the ridiculous Kelo v. New London decision makes it a losing battle in the long term (go to Hell, Justice Souter. Please feel free to follow him, Justices Ginsburg, Stevens and Breyer), they're stalling this enough that the Nets are backing off. As for LeBron leaving Cleveland for NY, I doubt he'd do it for New Jersey, and the Knicks are so woefully inept at managing the cap that now it'll never happen, even though it would have if they'd played things smart.
Yeah, I know. I mean that at this point, I don't think the Nets will move to Brooklyn, and will stay in NJ. That leaves the Knicks as NY's only team, and they won't be able to get their financial house in order enough to make a run at LeBron. Edit: I don't think LeBron would play for the New Jersey/Newark/Meadowlands/Whatever Nets. I think it's New York City or bust, because of his Nike contract.
