Interesting tidbit from Jeff Darlington this morning.

The immediate front-runner to replace Maser is New York Giants assistant offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo (pronounced day-GHOUL-yell-MO). DeGuglielmo has a clear advantage in that he has experience for the job and is familiar with coach Tony Sparano.

DeGuglielmo has had conversations about the vacancy with Sparano.

Now KFFL is reporting.

Mike Garafolo, of the Newark Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants assistant offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has interviewed with the Miami Dolphins to become their next offensive line coach. Someone informed of the progress of the interview said DeGuglielmo was offered the position and he has accepted. The hiring could be announced as soon as Thursday, Jan. 15.

Looks like we may have our new OL coach as early as today. From the Giants no less.

Confirmed.

Well I know one thing. The Giants have the best running game in the league.

And David Diehl went from a 5th round pick to starting guard to starting Left Tackle in like 3 years under this guy.

And had Gilbride and Coughlin not went away from the run against Philly, we'd probably be seeing the Giants in the Superbowl again

Sounds like he's the right man for the job. I'm glad they are going after who they want right away.

Makes sense now why he axed Maser. At least a little.

Dolphins hire new o-line coach

The Dolphins wasted no time in finding a replacement for offensive line coach Mike Maser, who was fired Wednesday. Giants assistant offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has accepted the position with the Dolphins, according to an unconfirmed report in The Newark Star-Ledger.

It's cool to give props to our new guy, but Pat Flaherty is the OL coach there, Gugs was his assistant. Pat's been there the same amount of time, and is surely at least equally responsible for the success of their OL

On the radio they were saying that he cursed and screamed too much at the players. That could have something to do with maser's firing.

Apparently we already had a plan, and a guy in mind when letting Maser go... if not before that is.

Looks like the guy has alot of O-Line experience, and the Giants have a great run blocking group, hopefully he can help out here.
