"Ninkovich, 24, began his career with the Saints as a fifth-round draft pick out of Purdue in 2006, but he only appeared in three games before he suffered a season-ending injury, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He then missed almost all of training camp in 2007 with a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee, and he was released before the first game of the season. He was picked up by the Miami Dolphins, where he was bounced around between the active roster and the practice squad ever since. He has appeared in five games with the Dolphins, mostly on special teams."
