HA! I'm binge-watching this SyFy series called Blood Drive. This is the definition of a guilty pleasure series.

If you were to take Tarantino's Grindhouse movie "Death Proof" and turn it into an over-the-top, gory, super campy horror show about a race where the cars run on human blood and where the diners serve up human meat, you'd end up with Blood Drive. It stars a super hot brunette and Thad Castle from Blue Mountain State. Can't believe this actually airs on regular cable with it being on the far end of the "rated-R" spectrum.

So far, 95% of Google users say they like the show, and it's received a respectable 80% from Rotten Tomatoes.

    @ToddPhin

Watching Mad Dogs on Prime this week. I don't like Billy Zane, he's always sucked and mailed in performances; but I think Steve Zahn is hysterical and under rated, so I gave it a go.

Really wasn't feeling it until "The Cat" showed up in the first show. Wow. Going to binge watch this now. lol...

2 episodes into Netflix's new show Ozark with Jason Bateman. Totally promising!! Has big time written all over it. Bit of a Breaking Bad feel. Instead of a good guy turned drug dealer, you have good guy turned drug money launderer.

Didn't realize Narcos was already due back up. Sweet. Have a feeling you'd wanna make time for the Unabomber series after giving episode 1 a go.

I read this morning where Apple is getting into the business of creating their own content. One more special source for people to go to. Between HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and however many others, on top of the traditional network and cable channels, I don't see how any person, unless they're wealthy, can watch every show that they would like to these days. You're forced to pick and choose who you subscribe to (I don't do any), and then the rest remain a mystery. Its a really weird situation to me. I spend however much a month for DirecTV, and that used to bring me just about all of the content that was out there to be had. Now its the tip of the iceberg.

Use an ad blocker with them and there's no annoying redirect pop ups. Hook up an HDMI adaptor to your laptop and watch most of your shows in near-Netflix quality on your TV...... or so I've heard.

For the past decade, I've used Satellite internet, which is slow and has strict usage limits because I live in a rural area and its all thats available. I'd burn through my monthly allotment pretty quick just watching Youtube videos here and there, let alone whole shows.

But my wife and I just sold our house, and are building a new one. When its complete, I'll be able to be a Comcast customer for the first time.

Watching Mr Mercedes. Whoa, it's depressingly weird seeing Kelly Lynch in this after watching her in Cocktail a few weeks ago. Makes us 40 year olds who grew up drooling over her feel old man.

Lots of potential here in a detective series that feels like the good British stuff.

Narcos season 3 was fanfu*****tastic!! :yahoo:

Every bit as good as the previous seasons, if not better. Absolutely crushes any drug movie ever made IMO. What's great about season 3 is the Cali Cartel is different in style and approach than Escobar, so you're given an all new original storyline.

Can't wait for season 4 and the introduction of the Mexican cartel.

House of Lies with Don Cheadel - great series. Especially if you're in the consulting business. Excellent acting and a little crazy sex thrown in.

Enjoyed episode 2 of The Orville more than the Pilot. They toned down the overly silly stuff, and went with more of a smartass casual feel, which I felt was better. Hopefully they find their voice after a few more episodes, because I think that it has a lot of potential and want to see it continue.

Sets, costumes, CGI and everything else are top notch, which is a pleasant surprise for a comedy.

I felt the same. Seth MacFarlane is a huge sci fi fan, so its good that he's the driving force with a lot of it.

Speaking of homages, I would be extremely interested in the new Star Trek series, if it were on actual television. I haven't watched something other than sports on CBS since Northern Exposure, but I would have tuned in every week. But alas, they demand that you subscribe to their own pay service online. Oh well, hopefully that bombs and it comes to regular TV. Or at least does in reruns in the summer.

On too late for me to watch live, but its on the DVR. Loved it as it went on last season, after being unsure early. Worried that the 10pm slot from the get go might be bad news.

Probably the most original and boundary pushing show on the regular networks.

Orville is surprisingly good. Just binged 3 episodes. I love that they took Star Trek and made it about regular people. Very well done and often funny. Budget it thru the roof too.

I agree. Haven't watched Ep 3 yet, but I thought that the second one had a better feel to it than the pilot. Hopefully it lasts, but its a FOX scifi show, so its in danger from the get go.

Watched the last one available...and I am really, really digging this show. It is a brilliant idea to take Star Trek plots and put 9-5 workers in the roles of the main characters. They are all flawed with real problems and quirks, just working their shifts. I think people were expecting a straight comedy ala, other Seth Macfarlane fare, but instead it is...well, a "down to earth" space adventure.

I agree. I know I was expecting more comedy, but I'm very happy with what it actually is. Ep 3 was IMO the equivilant of a very good Star Trek episode, with high quality guest actors. Really hoping this show gets a chance to truly get its legs under it, because I think that it could be terrific.
