If you’ve never had a groin injury before, I can tell you from personal experience it’s quite painful. I pulled my groin once doing combatives training in the army and good God Almighty, talk about a DEEP nagging pain that hurt each and every time you took a step.
Stretching, ice, heat and time...there’s really nothing else you can do...morally...without risking further catastrophic injury -

I had a college teammate pull a groin muscle and he was out for almost a month, so I think it just depends on the injury and the person. There is definitely a chance he can play this week but I wouldn't bet on it. -
