Stoneburner posted some nice numbers. Thought he'd run a bit faster in the 40 and 3 cone wasn't very good.
And thusly, poor fits for a zone blocking scheme. I've been saying for a while now that Cooper was a better fit for Miami than Warmack. His forty time backs up what I've seen on film. Tremendous power and great hand strength, but he doesn't move well.
Well **** I was hoping to set you up. I've actually been in a few multi page disagreements on why I like Ertz more than Eifert. Well played, sir
You still like him better? Do you think there is a significant amount of difference between how the two of them project as starting NFL TEs?
Although he was never my 1st pick for #12, I didn't have a huge issue with taking Eifert at #12. While still not likely to be my first choice, I think he moved up my list with his performance today. I wasn't sure he was as quick and athletic as he was today.
FLAMO. You've clearly never seen the guy actually play or you're just a massive ignoramus. I can't work out which.
Same here. Wouldn't consider either player at 12 anyway. And I'd be hard pressed to consider them at 42.
You get Miles Austin, you sign one of the big free agent receivers, you draft Tavon Austin at twelve and deal up for Eifert, keeping Bush, Hartline and Fasano. Still have picks to go get a corner and an end before round three is done. At worst. And no excuses for Tanny.
Cooper is not good value at #12 for a number of reasons: 1) Guards are usually taken at the end of the 1st round (Ex: DeCastro Steelers), 2) Warmack is the better prospect, 3) imo, better prospects will fall to #12.
Agree. And Reed ran a 4.62. Which is faster than Owen Daniels or Aaron Hernandez ran at their combines.
Also, not sure if you guys/gals saw it (I edited the same into another post on another thread), but Dion Jordan will have surgery for a torn labrum after the combine. Personally, I think he will be a bust from a value perspective at the top 15 picks; this will likely make him slide and more enticing from a value perspective. You dont think this team could use a pro bowl type RG to replace Jerry? I mean I would agree that we probably have bigger needs but I would think long and hard about that.
speaking of which… who here thinks Milliner might slide to 12 considering his injury AND that he is not going to be ready to any of the rookie camps
Please no OL guys in the first round. We've had a good line in the recent past. What we need is touchdowns.
I'll get right on it. lol..... Eifert 33 1/8 Ertz 31 3/4 Not huge, but significant. Escobar 33 5/8 Reed (my boy) 33 http://www.bigblueview.com/2013-nfl...d-height-weight-hands-arm-length-measurements
Is Chance Warmack likely to be a Pro Bowl player in this system? I don't think so. Jon Cooper could. And I like him a lot. But to sit here and refer to either of them as Pro Bowl players, without even considering the system...I'm not about that.
I really do think some people are over thinking this one, on Joseph Fauria. It's too bad he won't get to run but he does have a serious injury he got competing during All Star practices. I saw him do it. Can't question his willingness to go all out to try and impress the scouts.
I totally agree with that… we need mobile guys and that is not Warmack. Cooper on the other hand is exactly what the Dr ordered for our current system. BTW, I was speaking of Cooper when I made the "pro bowl type" comment.. not Warmack… who I believe is a square peg in a round hole if he came to Miami
I was asking yesterday if Tavon would be worthy the 12th pick. Maybe not too ridiculous a notion then, since you are thinking the same...
Which had more drops? I remember someone found the drop stats, but I forget who had more. By the way, I like how Vance McD looked in drills.
Mayock doesn't think Warmack is limited to just a man blocking scheme. He said after the 40, that Warmack is still his highest rated player and could play well in any offense. Just one man's opinion.
In the gauntlet, Escobar looked very good. Really great hands, reaches out and plucks the ball on every pass. Someone said Escobar has an aversion to ever body catching.
