Darius Butler is now on my "Follow through the Combine" list. Brandon Spikes, Coffman, Maqsuard (sp).. Not a good draft IMO.
I doubt Coffman would be the pick. He doesn't block very well or often in thet system Missouri runs and if Parcelsian theory holds true his TE's had better block a good sight better than Coffman.
Too many needs to go Te at #54 or so this year as well. And I have a theory about small college/unknown college ballplayers, scouts and front office types watch film on those schools before they take a guy like Donald Thomas, so a guy like Darius Butler will also be a known quantity to our Front Office. IMO, that is how we ended up with Devone Bess, we scouted Samson and Reagan Muaia, they noticed him then.... And as for value, why would we take a ILB at #19? No one has even mentioned Spikes in the same breath as Ray Lewis or even a Nate Webster..
Well CK for one thinks he can play OLB in the pros - Boomer has issues and I don't have an opinion yet as I haven't seen enough to say something out of my ***.
The Draft is a long way away, CK could have a point, but taking a ILB at #19 and moving him outside when there are better OLB and ILB prospects at the same spot in the draft seems a tad daft. That mock had Sintim going in the 30's...
Could, but we need yet another not to fast, nor to slow Florida ILB to whine and moan about if we let Channing leave via free agency.... Funny thing is, I don't recall another ILB being listed in that first round mock, may Laurantitis, but he has flypaper on his shoulder pads, he sticks to Olinemen to long...
"Baby Animal" tries to run around blocks a bit too much rather than take them on straight up an dplays off of them. Boom and I have spoken about him maybe being switched to the weak side ala A.J. Hawk but is he fast enough to really work out. He'd probably have to go to a team who allows the Will to play in space and not rush all that much like a cover 2. We'll see what happens as the draft gets closer.
