NFL Network won't be a pay service The News Several of the nation's cable operators keep insisting on making the NFL Network available only on a pay-extra sports tier, but NFL Network president Steve Bornstein said this week the league never will accept that, according to the Miami Herald. "We'd shut it down before we ever did that kind of deal. We're all about mass distribution and wide availability of our product. And there's no reason we want to make this an elitist product," Bornstein said. Our View Comcast, which services much of South Florida, has already moved the NFL Network to a tier, charging an extra $5 per month without the NFL's permission - the matter is now in court. http://www.fanballnews.com/nfl/
My cable company doesnt even offer it. I was paying 9$ extra for it, which I was fine with. But then they just dumped it completely and said it was too expensive for them to keep.
I hope the NFL loses. They are charging HBO type of prices and the cable industry cant absorb that. Expensive channels cant be part of a basic package .
