Just a heads up. If you call directv and tell them you want to cancel your NFL Sunday Ticket package, they will offer it to you for $149.99(instead of the $279.99 regular price). And they will throw in Super Fan free, which is normally $100(SF not guranteed to everyone).
I can see them doing this. I bet they have had cancellations in large numbers due to the state of the economy. What pisses me off is the fact that they refuse to offer streaming online. I would gladly pay for streaming but I not going to purchase a satellite just so I can subscribe to Ticket.
have you started paying for NFL sunday ticket yet? My first installment hasn't been billed to me yet, and I can't threaten to cancel until it does. Kind of odd, last year, they started billing me in late spring.
no i decided to cancel this year since i have Fios and didnt want to pay for ST. But do it NOW, i got this from another messageboard and 95% got the deal and the others got some kind of discount.($20 off each bill for 6 months)
sooooo if i havent signed up for it yet......(it will be my first time) should i call and be like "im thinking about it but its too much?!" haha
That's not on DirecTV. That's the NFL's call. If you live outside the country, you can get the games streaming in HD.
Thanks for the heads up. I just received my first bill of the year for Sunday Ticket. I will contact them and cancel to see if they drop the price.
well i was thinkin of bluffing and saying "im thinking about getting nfl ticket.....how much?" they give price "oh damn.....i want it so bad, have paid on time every month for a year...including multiple ufc ppv's.......but thats out of a my price range" and hopefully they say "well chris....lemme see what i can do for you...." and BOOM hit me with the offer

I got them down to $149.99 First, she told me that if I cancelled, I'd lose out on their "lowest" renewal price of $44.99 a month. I told her it was too much. She first offered to take $10.00 a month off then I told them if that was the lowest they could go, to go ahead and cancel my subscription and BINGO, she offered to take $20.00 a month off. Thanks everyone.
It took 3 agents and 35 minutes but I finally got it for $149.00 and free SF. Thank you again...........
Tell them you want to order it and then cancel it at the same time. You will blow their minds and get it for free.
I called them and just asked them if they could help me out and she said sure. They knocked of 100. I asked about the Superfan and she told me that it was free this year since all games are in HD. She told me that this is the first year that SF was made free. Works for me
wish i could do this but im at college football season...really wish they had an offer like MLB where you can watch games on your computer because i would do that in a heart beat, but they dont so im off to finding a radio link or a stream on justin.tv
Check out the computer thing again, I THINK they are doing something this year where you can watch games on your computer. Again, I'm not sure, so check it out again.
Just a heads up. Called to "cancel" my sunday ticket that was auto-renewing at $50 a month for 6 months ($300). Got an instant $120 credit to make it ($180). No longer need superfan as it's included. Can't wait for the season.
You guys are great...never wouldve thought of this but now I got it for 180 and the Superfan is included so compared to the 379 I paid last year Im stoked. U folks rule!
did you just call and speak to a normal representative? do they make you pay 180 right then? or is it spread out into parts? need to know before i 'hustle' dtv again
Here's the # I called. Chose #2 for no pin. Entered phone number and at the prompt said cancel service. I'm guessing it's retention. Told her that I just got my bill and saw that I was auto renewed at $49.99 a month for 6 months and that I needed to cancel that because I couldn't afford it. She didn't even hesitate and said what if I gave it to you for $20 less a month in an instant credit of $120. I said sure. So my bill is currently negative and I'll continue to get billed the $49.99 a month. 800-824-9081
I had a 5 minute convo with the dude and that was it...esy as can be. But yea its broken up into monthly installments although if u asked for more of a discount to pay upfront you may get it. Either way helluva deal cause I would die without the ticket.

Really? Just say hey man I know alot of people who are being offered this deal and I think I should have the same rights. Really what can they say to that? Remember there is no pride involved...if you dont ask you wont get it, plus im sure u will get a different rep this time.
well i got "to-go" for free thats it....i already got hd and a free reciever upgrade recently so im guessing i used up my "gimmes"
