But one thing I have NOT done is taken over a HC job knowing FULL WELL THE RESPONSIBILITY INVOLVED and DESERTED 53 players.
Never in my life.
All these faceless posters thinking that other faceless posters think they're saints...
Hey , but it'll be ok. Just let Grant desert the Union in the Civil War, or Eisenhower in WW2. It's okay. They're sorry.
Football is war.

Its not a matter of holding grudges or hating the guy I just feel like he showed what he's all about.....himself. Thats fine but if I'm expected to trust and respect someone that lied right to everyone's face and disrespected an entire franchise for himself....I don't. Hey he's a Championship college coach and a millionaire, more power to him but he's not someone I have any respect for as a person. He didn't really have any reason to do things the way he did them.

Hell no and it sounds like hes setting the stage for a return to the NFL someday and wants to clear the air for future teams..

Forgive him? Hell, I was glad to see him go. BUT he was full of crap and handled the situation very poorly.
-
i'm ok with it now. i was pissed at first but i feel it all worked out for the best. once he picked culpepper over brees it was over for him. you cant win without a qb. he went to alabama and got a great college team another championship and we got parcells and the boys. i am actually happy with the way things turned out

The tailspin he sent this franchise into?
Sorry...your apologies ring hollow.DolfanJake and anlgp like this. -
I still hate him. I actually hate him so much it made me root against Alabama whenever I saw them play.... apparently that didn't do though. I wouldn't be mad at him if he came out right away and was like yo guys I'm taking this other job, I feel that it has better opportunities ect ect but he insisted he was going to be with the Dolphins... Then left anyway. **** em

I saw the The Blind Side yesterday, and when he came in recruiting Oher.....I threw up on my daughter........on Father's Day......

I don't care enough to forgive the dude. He made his choice and that was that. It's easy to apologize. People act like saying sorry totally eliminates the act which they're responsible for.
If only it was that easyDolfanJake and gunn34 like this. -
say what you will ... but 9 out of 10 folks on this site would have taken the AL deal.
Saban felt he got 'screwed' with the Culpepper / Brees decision ... knew he couldn't 'fix' it and was looking at 'at least' another year with a ****ty QB before it would get any better.
Things would have turned out very different had the Docs recommended Brees, in fact he'd 'probably' still be here .... but such as life.
i don't begrudge him at all ... i certainly don't appreciate that he bailed -- but i do understand it. I liken this to a certain degree to the RW saga ...adamprez2003, resnor and Loyal Fin like this. -

He showed who his personality was and turned out to be kind of a ****. Yes, what he did kicked us in the junk, but at the end of the day he made his own colossal mistakes that wouldn't have brought us up like our current moves are doing.
Like it or not. Nick Saban set us on that course for where we are now by his action. Sure, it caused us a few years of misery, but without Nick Saban departing, we wouldn't have had our 1-15 season. Without our 1-15 season, there would be little room for Wayne to have called in Bill Parcells. And since he took over control of the team, we have made a VERY hard upswing, with a young team that stands ready to battle for the division and make deep playoff runs for quite a few years.
Sure, Saban screwed us over, but he also set us on the course we're on now, albeit unintentionally. We are who we are now because of what has happened.
Not trying to get all high and mighty, but who cares anymore? Sure I think the guys an ***, but it's not like he was leading us to a superbowl or anything. So him departing really was a good thing, whether he handled it well or not.adamprez2003 and MikeHoncho like this. -

Crowder? Ok. Sure fire tackler. Defense missed him a lot when he went down. Everything else? Eh.
You're really gonna put Jason Allen on this list? :D
Roth is solid, but lied. So it makes sense that Saban drafted him. -

Posted in absolute ridiculous just to get another jab in @ Saban  -
I still remember someone's name here being sabanisgod. Whatever happened to him? -
You can forgive, but that doesn't mean you can forget. I don't begrudge him for taking the Alabama job but he could have gone about it with a lot more class and dignity. The players, the team and the fans deserved more consideration.
No, I don't hate him, and I respect what he has done as a "college" coach but I don't like him as an individual and the Dolphins are better with him gone. -
Looks like someone saw our recent poll and felt bad.
-
But, he didn't. He bashed everyone who dared ask him about it, and played the victim by claiming that people were questioning his integrity. Then, he said that he was not going to coach Alabama.
I wanted him gone on Christmas night vs the Jets where we were down at the half, but Harrington was on a roll to end the half. What does he do? After the Jets first series, our defense stops them, and Harrington was on his way out to the field, and Prick Satan yanks him for Cleo Lemon. You could see on Joey's face that the QB change was NOT discussed at halftime. The rest of the offense was stunned as well. Saban cost us that game...I believe he did it just out of spite, and I have hated him ever since. I admit, I was glad when he was gone. That doesn't change the fact that he is a lying sack of s***. I'm getting pissed just typing this.gunn34 likes this. -

If I hated ricky williams I'd hate myself. Wait a minute, a large part of me does.
But both of us are also my hero.
The difference between Saban and Williams is:
Saban is over the whole team. He's the coach. Williams is a cog in the wheel.
Grant is a general. Eisenhower is a general.
The players and soldiers go AWOL in their jobs for respective reasons of their own. It leaves both in chaos, but if a man in charge goes and quits.. it leaves the whole army in a state of disarray.DolfanJake and MikeHoncho like this. -
