Nolan:Watching how the D rebounds

Well hopefully they rebound, if they don't we won't sniff the playoffs. I am kind of worried because we simply just got schooled in that game, I don't think it was a lack of talent either. Our defense looked out of shape and lost, those things point directly at coaching. Hopefully it was just a bad week against a good offense and we rebound.

Any word on Clemons and if he'll be starting at FS this weekend?

the coaches had them for all of a month, not the normal 4 how is conditioning the coaches fault?

Interesting point he brought up about how experienced that "one" defense was and how it just wasn't their style to go out like that.

How experienced are our players? Randy Starks and Kendall Langford have about 3 years under their belts starting, Paul Soliai has 2 years under his belt, this is basically Odrick's 1st year, Cameron Wake, Kevin Burnett and Koa Misi have only 1 year under their belt starting each, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith have 2 years each, this is Reshad Jones' 1st year. The grizzled veterans are Karlos Dansby who has 7 years starting under his belt, Jason Taylor who's been in the league TOO long, and Yeremiah Bell who has 4 years of starting in.

Would anyone really characterize this unit as a veteran, experienced unit? I don't think so. I think people would say that if it's clear that "veteran, experienced" = good, but they would also probably try and characterize this unit as "young, hungry" if it were presented as "young, hungry" = good.

Wake is in yr #3, ditto SS and VD, langford is in yr #4, Soliai has been around since 07, that is as experienced as needs be.

So yeah, I'd say they are experienced.

In 03, the Ravens had cleared the decks of the 2000 SB defense save for Lewis and possibly someone like A Thomas, Reed, Suggs etc were quite young in terms of experience that season and they finished 6th in overall defense with 1 starter over 30

Wake was an NFL rook, Merling and Langford were in yr #2, VD and SS in yr #1, JT and Porter were very experienced, as was Crowder and Ayodele, YB and Wilson were both very experienced as well.

11 starters, WA, Crowder, Ayodele, JT, JP, YB, Wilson, Fergie all had yrs of experience

VD, SS, Wake, Langford, Merling, Baker, were all NFL newbs.

This yr, not a single player with a yr's experience or less, aside from Odie or Wilson are likely to see much playing time.

Didn't seem to be a problem for the Pasties. :confused2:

They got their a$$'s handed to them straight up. Conditioning and Nolan Carroll story of the game. Conditioning I blame on the players. Not being able to adjust and fix the problem.....the coaches. You know Houston is going to come out with the same game plan......and every team after them...until we stop it. No huddle and a heavy dose of Johnson this week will be the order. Lets see if Nolan figures it out??

Did not know his Redskins D was gashed that heavily in 99, and that team was in the middle of a failed transition from the 4-3 to the 3-4.
