Post your best FA signing that you got talent/price. NT-Pat Sims 300K Great against the run struggles with staying healthy perfect for the min.
My most recent FA signing is one I'm thrilled with: DE James Hall, $300,000 He was cut a few days ago and the Jags scooped him up. Very consistent DE, playing in 14+ games since 2007, totaling 30 sacks in that period (6 per year). For the bare minimum, he will be an excellent pass-rush specialist for us. He's 35, but has been productive and played 700+ snaps last year, so age isn't a concern. Great bang for the buck IMO.
It was between Antonio Dixon, Reed Doughty and Bobbie Williams, all of which went for 300k. If I had to pick one though, I'd say Antonio Dixon.
Chris Hope, Sheldon Brown, Albert Haynesworth, Matt Birk, Ryan Grant, Shaun Hill and Seneca Wallace were all signings that I liked. All but two went for 300 K. I think Matt Birk was my best signing, though.
Paul Soliai for 3.2M. Its easy to get pretty good players to fly under the radar at 300-500K (Case in point I got a steal on Dwight Lowery who could start at FS for half of the teams here) but much harder to get a known player for much less then market value.
My "best" FA is Center Chris Meyers. He has been a dominant Center for about 3 years running and is now finally starting to get his due. Best "Value" has to be Ryan Pickett for 400K, he was transitioning nice to the 3-4 DE spot before injuries bit him the past year and a half. The fact they were more nagging injuries than career threatining leads me to believe he will be fine. The Packers franchised him 2 years ago for a reason, he can play football.
Same for me with Meester at $500,000. I guess veteran, proven centers flew under the radar this year.
I guess a million for Atari Bigby was my best. I can honestly say that there are no holes at the safey position.
{from the back corner of the room with voice being misdirected} I think it was $16.0M on Calais Campbell and what his presence really does to shape Buffalo's D into something fearful, along with the compounding affect he has when paired with Von Miller on one side, either Dareus or Kyle Williams on the other, and Pat Willis roaming behind them.
