Anybody else watching this game? James Ruffin of Northern Iowa is quick off the edge and uses his hands well but looks like he jogs around often. He's got nice size at 6'4", 265. Justin Rogers, CB of Richmond has good closing on the ball from the little I've peaked over at the game. Just saw him get beat deep but the WR dropped it. Looks like he has a difficult time flipping his hips and questionable long speed. He's underweight at 176 lbs but is 5'10" and draftscout has him listed at a 4.4 forty. Add Kevin Grayson, Richmond WR, to the list. 6'3", 200. He had a deep touchdown early and has nice size. Slow forty according to nfldraftscout.
Our coordinators are so stupid... I hate trick plays at the end... try to throw a pass in the middle of the field... kick a field goal... We were at their 40 yard line.. With 14 seconds and one time out left, we had a chance to win the game.. Only down by 1 point, it's not like we needed a touchdown... I'd trust our kicker making a 55 yard field goal over than our offense pulling a 60 yard hook and ladder... I guess it shows that we lost our two leading receivers due to possession charges right before playoffs...
Yeah... I was actually going to help the ESPN crew for the game, but my parents were coming up to visit (the one time of the year they decide to visit...) so I decided not to...
He's extremely quick off the line from what I've seen. I believe he's a junior so I don't see him declaring or anything. He's definitely a leader of our defensive line with Justin Kirk. He started last year, I think he started most of the year before that. Not really sure as I started school at UNI last year. I haven't really keyed in on him that much because personally I like Justin Kirk more than Ruffin, however I think Ruffin has a future in the pros... Kirk not so much. Definitely suited to be a 4-3 DE in the NFL though.
In other news though, if the Dolphins don't win tomorrow.. I'm going to be extremely disappointed.. Coming up short of the championship game (again) and pretty much eliminating our playoff contention in the same week would not be a good weekend for me...
Ruffin suited as a 43 end or Kirk? I haven't gotten to the tape yet (family is here) but he looked like he moved pretty well out there.
There are a few on that team with at least a shot. Michael Silva the OT is senior I think, Josh Vaughn will get a TC look, but after seeing a couple games including App. State I personally think there best player is a sophomore Patrick Weldon the OLB.
What do you think about Richmond DE Lawrence Sidbury? I noticed him a few years back when my Dayton Flyers had to play the Spiders.
I forgot about Sidbury will be interested in what Boomer has to say, but I do not think he is strong enough at the point to be more than a pass rush guy at d. end but IMHO he may be athletic enough to project to OLB, he looks like a decent enough athlete and he does change direction well. Be interesting to see how he tests and what Boomer has to say.
I'll correct myself, Richmond never played Dayton during my tenure, perhaps I was thinking of someone else. But Sidbury looked pretty good against NIU.
