http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/25/ochocinco-sends-roger-goodell-a-warning/ Chad Johnson quote.. "@nflcommish Dad... I love u but I will be a problem this year.. all fine money this year can be collected from @MiamiDolphins #management" Not sure if I should go off on his skinny ***, but talking like this must mean you have some game left, and the last time I seen Chad Johnson playing in a real game, Darelle Revis was making him his little ***** puppet..
and Peter King tweeted back "Immature"....as well Mike and Mike was getting on him.... Obviously he means he is going to get fined for TD celebrations....which is a good thing, so embrace it Deej.... 85 has never been a problem outside of football....
Your a grown *** man, trying to rehab your image, you lost your game, and your acting like a child before you've proved that you have any left... Not my style f13, maybe when you were a somebody I could jive with it, but when you sold it, you lost that privilege..If you can't find self motivation from within, and you have to resort to stuff like this, I just can't respect that. Now if he wants to score a TD and do a river dance, I'm good with that, but that's about as far as I go...lol
Personally, I hope he does the most elaborate TD celebrations of all time this year. Fine away. It's entertaining as heck, I'm OK with it. As long as he's producing.
I'm okay if he wants to get fined, but the 15 yard penalties are not cool. He is trying to go back to Chad Johnson of old, so he is trying to emulate his MO, mantra, mindset, and demeanor of old - IMO.
I love ya' Deej, buuuuuuuut.... Why should a man who has been very successful at the NFL level, need to approach the game the way you feel he should?
If he's getting into the end zone, as fans we should be thrilled about any celebrations he's planning. I just hope he can do it without getting that 15 yard penalty tacked on.
Right the Chad Johnson of old throws up 80 and 1000+ blindfolded.....I hope he just brings his gold teeth....
Fine away fines mean celebration time. Like Tone E said as long as it doesn't cost yards or downs I will enjoy it. Tweeting commish ahead of time ? No comment really there.
1) there is no image to rehab.his game needs rehab. 2) this is still finding motiviatio within. He is just sharing it with the world.
I think before I'll buy anything from this clown, I want to see some production first...IF we see the production, he can stand on his head, jump up and down, bring out the sharpie, or whatever...but we need to see him in the endzone before he starts the trash talking and acting like an idiot...
Apparently he's also gone off on twitter today stating that he's "got two F U's for everyone doubting him, one from johnson, one from ochocinco" Schein, and Rich Gannon, especially Rich were going off on Chad for his behaviour earlier. Don't understand why this clown can't just STFU and play... like.. .he had all of 15 catches last year... Just STFU already...
I think it's a good thing. Chad Johnson is a better player when he's himself having fun. If he doesn't mind getting fined, it will make for great entertainment if he's celebrating in the endzone. I also think all the flak he's taking will give him extra motivation to get it done this year, which could be as simple as putting in the time to learn the plays.
Hmmmm, that's a good question bro, I'll try to go there, without being too judgmental, but I guess that's what I'm being anyways right. When I look at athletes I think it's normal to put ourselves in their shoes and determine how we would behave if the circumstances presented themselves..Personally, because I believe that being born with great talent is luck, and not a blessing, I always think that world class million dollar athletes should have a humble approach to the game, I feel strongly about that because of children who are born without a chance in life, so, that is the basis of my moral compass and where I hold athletes to a standard of humility. I don't know what the details of his life have been, and how he has been living it, but I do know that your not gonna get respect, if you talk sh&$ before you perform, life lesson 101, and I think there is substantial evidence that he has not performed on the field, and has not respected the craft to the fullest for a few years relative to the money your making, so, what you did in the past does not give you the right to talk sh&$ in the present, it's a man to man thing for me at least, I know he doesn't have to give a sh$) what I think, nor take my approach to life, but if you wanna earn respect, then simply perform first, show humility while doing so, then have some mother fu&$in fun without crossing lines.. To me when you haven't done anything on the field, and you've lost your strength as a player, because you chose to do outside things that took away from your proper training, you also just got cut by one if the premiere franchises in the sport, and yet your telling the commish that your antics will be covered by your new team, I'm sorry, that's enough for me to make a judgement and call it like I see it, which is childish, not humble, and falls short of proper conduct by a player who's making millions.. Should he change his approach this year?, not if he doesn't want to, not because I say so, but he's not gonna get my respect just because of what he accomplished in his past, and I'm not gonna sweep what I consider inappropriate comments under the rug, just because there might be a chance that this is how he motivates himself.. Respect is earned Fin D, he has yet to accomplish that in this uniform.
Except, he has proven the way he does things is effective for himself. He didn't make a peep last year and, well, he didn't make a peep on the field either. If you find his way a turn off, then so be it that's your right, but to act as if your idea of how things should be done for 85 specifically are better then his, when he's proven his way works for him, actually makes your claims more boastful then his.
If he won't be penalized, why did he say what he did? The entire statement implies he'll be getting into some trouble.
I don't think one has to do with another. I have a hard time believing his lack of production was due to his lack of getting in trouble.
Right. Chad Johnson is a good teammate and a good guy. He doesn't get into trouble off the field, and doesn't even drink alcohol. If he wants to bring attention to himself and cause himself to be fined in the process, that's his business. He's a better player when he's being himself though. This place was in full outrage mode when the Dolphins traded away a guy who has a history of beating women. Are we really going to get our panties in a bunch because a guy wants to dance in the endzone and entertain the fans?
More boastful, I don't believe that, more humble, more with class, sure. So your saying that because he didn't talk and be himself, that impeded his talent from shining through?. I think that's a weak copout for a player.. Right now the mouth is coming thru, without having proved the game is still there, that's not the right way Fin..not on a new team, if your telling me he can't find a mindset to perform that has humility and class ingrained, considering the circumstances, and that he has to talk to get the best out of him, I'm gonna say that's pretty weak, if you can't find a way to talk and show swagger, without F bombing people or saying things like we are gonna pick up his tab for his fines, then I question how smart the approach your taking is.
I don't think it had anything to do with getting into trouble, but I think it's entirely possible that a change in his persona could have had an impact his play on the field. There obviously were other factors too, but when you change who you are it can impact your entire life, especially if you're not having any fun in your profession any more.
I'm fine with those things 24, I'm just talking about having a bit of reserve with your talk until you earn the respect of your new team and it's fans..
