Like I said in the gameday thread.

Draft Weeden, fix the offensive line, fix the secondary, go get a pass rusher of some sort = relevance.

Weeden could deliver us 5-8 years of high end quarterback play. It would be a great bridge to the next guy we draft, just don't wait a ****ing decade to draft the next guy.

 

But if the Colts DO select Luck, they'll have a decision to make with Manning. I would take him in Miami for 3 years with Barkley, Jones or Griffin. They could also trade the pick.

Will be an interesting off-season. And I'm not sold the Colts will go 0-16 yet. Let's see what happens when they play Jax in Indy?

 

Only problem with Weeden is he is so old. However SFL is not over... not even close. We're barely halfway through the season.

 

Give Weeden 3 years before we have to get him one of these

Lol.... ok. Listen, I am not comparing Weeden to Favre in age, ok? I'm saying, if you are investing a (most likely) top 5 pick on a QB for the future in the first round, I would think twice of drafting said QB because of his age.

And yes, Indy is horrible. But really, this team is bad too. In the words of Bart Scott, "anybody can be beat." Who knows, maybe Indy will pull of a win. If you have some sort of crystal ball predicting the future I would love to know what the final standings will be since it seems so certain that we are now not contenders for Luck.

 

It will be so unfair if/when Indy gets Luck.

 

Maybe he and JT can sign up for AARP Silver Sneakers together.

 

We just have to cross our fingers and hope we nail this pick if they go QB. Barkley might not even declare for the draft.....

I know, that would suck about Barkley. I like Jones, more than most I guess.

 

I like Jones a lot, would love to have him in Miami, but there are 6 months between now and the draft, tons of things can happen.

 

The Colts are every bit as bad as that Lions team, maybe worse. They are not even competitive. Our only hope is they fire Caldwell right away and an interim comes in and gets them a win or two.

 

Matt Barkley hasn't indicated one way or the other. The only thing he has said is that he wants to finish with a bang. Well, he has 18 TDs and 3 INTs in his last four games. Bang! Barkley will declare.

Have you seen the Colts? They're a competent organization willing to lose on purpose for 15 years of winning. We're not competent enough to match them. SFL is officially over, as is any hope for this season ending with a light at the end of the tunnel.

basically, Caldwell is tanking the season for his owner, and he has job security. win win. our franchise sucks ;/

hey man Wee.den plays inthe big 12 and the big 12 isnt garbage the offense are so much better then the defenses i think some of you are being a little classless with the age thing there are players that are in the league now that are up there in age and they are playingbetter then some of the younger guys. Weeden isnt 30 something and I would take Weeden over Jones any day this age crap means nothing we had a 33 year old rb's in Ricky and he still had jucie . which is more important , to have a qb that is slightly older that can get the job done or a qb that iss younger who doesnt get the job done.

i dont want everyone to agree with me but geez to not even watch te guy and say he is overrated is contempt prior to investigation. i think judst because he comes from one conference doesnt make him a bust. he has one thing our team has lacked and that is leadership and that should count for something.

now on the flip side or for a alternative and that would be to draft at #3 or four and the trade down five spots and get more draft picks and take blackmon and then take a rt or fb but there is several options . I just hope we dont end up in bad draft position and then we keep Sparano and Ireland .

i think I would take Luck first or trade down and try to get a great number of draft picks and take Blackmon and Weeden and then address our secondary and get a right tackle bt there is several options so we ought to keep a open mind here.
