I‘m with you that it’s probably not 100% true, funny thing is, if it would be positive it would probably be a 100% true for you. The truth mostly lies in the middle and with all the smoke that is surrounding the Dolphins there’s likely a fire and one thing is quite certain as well, Grier ****ed up pretty bad, no matter how you put it.
I love how anything against people's narrative is just "not true." How many players have to leave and level complaints?
I can flip this on you. How many players have said there's nothing to this? Why do you instantly believe there is a problem. More players have said it's not true that it is.
I've said it many times, I post things that I see pop up in my feeds sometimes. Just because some players haven't seen that side of the organization somehow invalidates what these players keep saying?
Are you REALLY going to argue that the Dolphins have been a well run organization? I mean, I know you don't like me, and you want to argue everything I say, but seriously man. What OBJ and others have said makes perfect sense when when I'm looking at things that we can see publicly with this organization.
Doesn't seem like there is much about the Dolphins. Mostly just seems to be unhappy they wanted him but didn't use him. Probably hasn't come to terms with being washed.
It's not a well run organization and nobody needs OBJ to say it. That said, nobody needs that washed bum to say anything and I don't give a you know what about anything he has to say.
Its voted as a top organization from the bottom up in all off-season surveys every year. Its just terrible that Ross cant field a winning team. Its not for lack of spending or caring. I believe he wants to win more than anyone thinks.
I couldn't watch it and gave up around the 9 minute mark. All he did was complain about the "darkness around him" and "no reward for playing" when he was getting $3M/year for riding the bench. Once he got into "all the sacrifices he made for the game", which is what every single high school player, college player, and pro player does hoping to make it to the next level....I had to tap out. I know OBJ has mental health problems and it shows in this video. The "darkness" he is describing is his own feelings that stem from mental health. He simply wanted to be in the spotlight to feel like he was needed and valued.
He really didn't though. I don't know why you are trying to blow up what he said into more than it was. "I'm spending all my time on this and not getting a reward. It was like a bit of resentment to have to get up and go into that building. Even though it was a blessing and a privilege...it became like poison to me." He is talking about being away from his family and not even playing. He isn't trashing them beyond being sold on being used and not being used.
Because he disagrees doesn't mean my take was wrong at all. There are plenty of people who also have the same take as me.
Also, it's not passive aggressive. It's sarcastic. Color me surprised you don't know the difference. I made that comment because EVERY time something is posted concerning the culture of the organization, it's explained away. So the only answer must be that the organization is actually well run.
Everyone knows the Dolphins are a dumpster fire but this thread is about what OBJ said and he didn't say anything about the culture of the organization.
What exactly is the point of this thread? To say the Dolphins player culture isn't good? Is anyone actually disagreeing with that?
I think a culture change is very much needed. It's been the main issue for the last five years. While I can't solely blame Tua for the way things are, some of this does fall on his shoulders. Being that he's simply not good enough to be a franchise quarterback automatically means that he doesn't generate or command the respect that leaders do. I think Tua is a fine quarterback, I think you can win with him similar to how Baltimore won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer, but we don't have a Ray Lewis on this roster that takes on the role of team leader/example setter. Again, I'm not here to blame him. Only a simpleton would do that. With that said, I do think we need to start over at the position. I also think Grier and McDaniel need to be jettisoned. All three need to go. Fernando Mendoza makes way too much sense for us next season. Dante Moore, John Mateer, Nussmier would also work. That's where I'm at least, at this point. You can't be Tua and just simply talk about team culture being an issue. We've had this problem ever since Grier took over. With McDaniel, NOBODY is going to respect that dudes word. He doesn't have the balls to.hold anyone accountantable and nobody fears him. It's no wonder we're sitting at 1-5. Sadly, we have the talent just not the discipline. Same goes for Tua. He has the talent, but he's not a lead by example kind of guy. He's more of a show up to work go with the flow (without being a distraction) kind of guy. Not what you want from a guy that is expected to carry your team and pick em back up when they fall and break the way they have. Tua would be great in San Francisco. Put him in a situation where the front office and coaching staff are working as one cohesive unit and he'd be fine. It won't work here in South Beach in this environment.
