I'm pretty sure Knobler said point blank that Cespedes didn't want to go to the Marlins. Him signing for more money doesn't prove that he didn't want to be here or anywhere actually. Just that it was all about the money.

right so why even contact the Marlins, let alone visit the park etc.....just keep it moving like Oswalt is doing.....unless it is about the leverage he was trying to create.....

It was about leverage I'm sure. If a team is going to invite you to the ballpark and give you a tour might as well take it. Especially since, I believe, Miami was the only team that had a meeting of that nature.

Which is back to my original point of Miami getting left at the alter again.....however like Puljos I believe they also did well not to get him, even if it wasnt by their own accord.....6 years for him, on a Star Wars youtube video is about as bad Gm'ing you can get....

But is he in the best shape of his life to go along with his 3 new pitches? The suspense is killing me.

By the way, this is the only "reporting" Nick Cafardo is qualified to really do.

So true. We wouldn't want Cafardo to hurt himself by doing actual reporting though.

And he's smart, so that helps. High team IQ = wins.

RIP Gary "The Kid" Carter @57!

P.S. news that really floored me...but I am impressed in the flexibility I guess:

Newsday’s Ken Davidoff adds up teams’ payroll commitments for 2015 and beyond and finds that nine clubs -- the Orioles, Cubs, Indians, Astros, Royals, Mets, Padres, Giants and Mariners -- haven’t committed a thing for ’15 or beyond.

Well Braun's PED charge is tossed out by arbitrator (2-1 vote) based on his decision that the "chain of custody" may have been broken.......but not that Braun didnt actually use PEDs.

Interesting....and sad for all parties at the same time.

Definitely interesting but (it's probably just me) I just don't care. I just want to watch baseball games as soon as possible.

The bigger deal is that someone leaked the failed test before Braun had the appeal, much like the people leaking information about the 103 or 104 players that failed the PED testing in 2003. This stuff is suppose to be confidental.

Which is the bigger problem than testing positive for a PED.
