I have NYY over Det in 5 games. I think CC and Verlander split their matchups...but Yanks pull it out in the Stadium.

I have TEX over Ray's in 4 games. Ray's like last year get down quickly and only grab one at home.

I have PHI rolling in 3 games

I have MIL over Dbacks in 5 games too. Think it will be perhaps one of the more enjoyable series and just sense lots of drama.

will wait to see if I am correct on these 4 before picking the LCS.

    Let's go Rays!!!

Would rather face the Tigers in the first round. I don't think we match up well with the Rangers, as last year showed. We can win this series, but its going to take a few hitters getting hot to do it

I'm sticking with my preseason pick of Red Sox/Braves in the World Series... errr Toilet Bowl.

    I guess I'll go with:
    Yankees over Tigers
    Rays over Rangers
    Rays over Yankees

    Phillies over Cardinals
    Brewers over DBacks
    Phillies over Brewers

    Phillies over Rays

man, if we steal game one from Verlander, katy bar the door.....

Listen, I feel Yanks are playing with house money, since so many "experts" felt they were at best a WC contender. So the fact they won the AL East, and have young guns contributing with a season where they lost their setup man (twice), lost their LOOGY before the season even started; lost their 3B for much of the season, and had two OLD TIMERS step up in the rotation for the year, and their young up and coming projected ACE had a significant set back, only to see another emerge....yeah House Money.

I think folks are sleeping on the Tigers and they shouldn't, when you have an Ace, you can win any series,

Of course, but its not like Yanks dont have an ACE thats been there done that......I have it going 5 which is a toss up. I am expecting/hoping the Yanks bats hit the fastball that Verlander, Fister, and Scherzer will be leaning on. Historically, we do well vs DET. If CC holds the fort and splits with Verlander (could sweep if we take game 1), it will come down to Nova and Garcia vs their two.

I actually think Nova vs. Fister could be amazing game 2's and possibly 5's.

#1 prospect Matt Moore to start game 1 for Rays in Texas tomorrow....

I got to tell you, I don't agree with this move at all...this move is going to either blow up in Maddens face, or Madden is going to once again look like a genius.

Tigers have answers for the Yank's sticks, I'm thinking Verlander is throwing bb's at 101 mph per.

I've seen 2 pitchers just dominate a series before and I suspect we see it again, sort of like Mike Scott mowing down Mets in 86..just unhittable stuff.

Amazing win by your Rays. Moore should be in rotation next year from opening day; unless your management screws him with minor league time. Expect James, Davis or Niemann to be traded just like Garza.

I actually thought for a second, letting AJ or Hughes pick up where CC left off; keeping Nova and Garcia as still Game 2 and Game 3 arms, and thus letting CC pitch Game 4 or 5 depending on series standing would have been an intriguing option.

Figure, CC went 2, so AJ or Hughes only have to go 4 to turn it over to the pen in 7th, 8th, 9th, etc.

But Girardi feels moving Nova and Garcia up, makes the most sense.....hmmm...I think the chance to only need AJ for only 4 innings when historically he has run into problems in the 5th inning or later was a nice idea. Oh well.

Not really IMO. Penny has never been good in the post season, and he's the exact type of pitcher the yankees eat alive. If Penny starts he WILL get ripped. Turning to him shouldn't be an option for them

I dont care if he starts...I just want to force DETs hand and have Penny pitch at any point. I too know he's exactly the type of pitcher the Yanks feast on. DET doesnt have the arm depth.....I would like to think Yanks make it past this round, stranger things have happened if they dont, but IMO its house money.

    Let the good times roll.

    Can TB sweep???

I don't think TB will sweep for the simple fact is, they are so well rounded, I don't see us being able to keep that offense down for 3 straight games. Especially considering our offense isn't the best anyways. But I will say this, we CAN sweep. With Shields and Hellickson going in the next couple games, we now have control over this series. And even if and when we get to game 4, I am highly confident that Price will be better.

EDIT: just realized they switched price and Hellickson. Probably smart seeing as Hellickson pitched so many innings this year. Price is going to have to be better then he has lately for sure.

The Cardinals find out it's not so easy to win in Philly when they're actually trying to beat you.

I hate the Phillies but right now you can't really pick anybody else to win the World Series.

Yes, mainly because of the 2-strike at-bats they started to put together, and Gardner's CLUTCH hit. Gardner, Jeter, Granderson with 3 straight 2-strike productive at bats, and then Cano's 1st pitch Salami-time!

Great start with Nova going 6+, and the bats not giving in with their approach and finally paying dividends.

I was concerned with how many UNPRODUCTIVE at bats we had with RISP! but that changed. Just wish the top of the 9th was not so shaky for arms, and NEEDING to go to Mo for 3 pitches. Was never worried, just frustrated that it took Girardi to go to him.
