Hughes is a wimp and should be shipped out of the country never to return. Ditto for Noesi if he pitches poorly.

What gives you that idea? Ugh I hate Desmond Jennings, such a stupid name. Who names their kid Desmond anyway. Get a real name like Alex or Derek or Curtis.

this game is over.....Mo is getting up...Cano hits a 2 RBI double.....

Big Game James had a good day and still didnt win....

I will take Big Game Noesi/Valdes/Kontos/Laffey/Wade/Logan/Ayala/Rivera any day of the week

that being said I hope the Yanks lose tonight, to keep some pressure on the Sox....forget meaningless stats like 20 wins...

Well I'd say that's pretty much it on the rays season. We had to get hot at the end to get in and were doing the exact opposite. Fact that were so close with such ****ty hitters is astounding though

Not yet bro, hang in there......they are playing the Sox this weekend.....you guys have to do damage against the Blue Jays however.....all in all I got say though this team is was out double digits and have made it very interesting.....thats all you can ask for, if this thing goes for another 2-3 weeks I think they win the WC honestly.....time is getting short for them...

We played the Yankees B squad today and still couldn't win. Were not going to be able beat the Jays if we couldn't win today's game. People forget that the Jays are 78-76 in the best division in baseball. Their not a bad team.

God bless the Yankees, Jorge Posada, Nunie, Cano, Rivera, Robertson, Soriano, who else am I missing?

The Yankees are 3-0 when I'm rooting for them, if Hank or Hal wants to pay me for continuing to root for them I'd listen.

Let's go for the sweep tonight boys!

Hey, I aim to please. I actually met up with a good friend of mine yesterday who's a big Yankee fan and we happened to turn on the TV just as Nunez hit that HR in Game 1 to tie it and we both went nuts.

If it was up to me I would have retired Posada's number already and given Nunez a statue next to Big George's in CF.

Comments like that always make me laugh. Just stick to baseball Russ, you've been a Yankee for 25 minutes and it's not like there has been any real bad blood between the two teams since what 2004/05. But hey at least you'll get a cheap pop from the Yankee crowd for that.

With that being said by all means Russell take out you hatred on the Rays today, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There's still a Silver Slugger & Gold Glove Award out there with your name potentially on it!!!! (Just kidding he has no shot to win either but please do well in those 4 games).

This is not a good start. I think Colon has tired legs and its affecting his location on his pitches.

Yeah big let down by the Yankees last night, I think I'm going to stop rooting for them these next 3 games as a penalty. Then start back up on Monday if I feel like they did a good/bad job this weekend. That line up Girardi put out last night was a joke but I don't blame him. Of course that joke line up could probably score 15 off of Wakefield.

you knew that line up was coming for the obvious of resting players, but also even though he wont admit it, he is probably glad they lost to keep a little pressure on the Sox.....makes sense....so play the game the right way, dont dog it out, but here is the AAA line-up coming off a no curfew night....

So what happens if it downpours in NY like they say it is going to all weekend? They cant cancel....they are going to play in a downpour...

Sorry to use this thread as a platform, but not enough Rays fans here, how impressive was the young starter Matt Moore for the Rays? This kid has been a monster in the minors, especially since cutting down on his walks. This year in AA and AAA combined, he's 12-3 with 1.92 ERA with 210 KS in 155 innings. He's going to be a monster starter for us next year.

BTW, he was the first starter to strike out 11 or more Yankees in 5 innings.....ever. He did that in his first start, obviously not the top of the line Yankee lineup, but extremely impressive either way.

Keep in mind, historically, the Yanks (no matter who is in the lineup) do not fair well vs. any arm they see for the first time. Has been the case for many years, first go round has big advantage leaning to any arm with some basic talent, all seem to shut down the lineup until a book is built on them. Again, historically, just a case, "especially" if a lefty.

I like Moore, and will target him in next years fantasy draft for sure. He lit up minors this year, and I suspect will be a top-notch arm on TB staff for years to come. Compliments Price for sure.

No clue. I'm guessing if they can't play tonight they'd try to play a DH on Saturday, if those games get washed out try to play a DH Sunday. If those games get rained out try to play a DH on Thursday and a single game on Friday pushing back the start of the ALDS, again assuming the Red Sox don't need to play those games to make the playoffs. It would be a complete mess though either way. Early word is they will be able to get the game in tonight. I bet they try like hell to get in the games if possible. Hopefully their won't be any long rain delays of have to call a game before all 9 innings are played.

Safe to say I was in shock watching that yesterday, Lester never gets roughed up like that against NY....

They are saying the second game is in trouble with the rain advancing....

Cool story, McCarver said that Tito in a presser personally thanked Cashman because after Friday's rainout...Tito, Girardi, and Cash where all in the Umpire's room, trying to decide if Saturday or Sunday was the day to have the DH....usually as we all know it is the home teams say, but Cashman deferred to Tito....saying that while they are playing to win, they realize that the Sox are in a more vital situation, and wanted to do things the right way.....

Kudos Cashman, although me thinks The Boss isnt too impressed.....

Yeah that's the crazy thing about the playoffs. It's a complete crapshoot. I could see the Sox easily getting swept out of them or just going on a run and winning it all. Hell you can say that about any team (except when the Twins play the Yankees).

Looks like I need to break out my Yankee Universe gear for the next three days again. Let's go boys!
